I can't quite figure out why they don't just release it everywhere at the same time; it's not like people are going to fly to other countries because it's cheaper. Maybe the marketing strategy is that they can spread it out and gain more popularity as the movie spreads?
It must have something to do with the competition. Spiderman and Batman are getting a release over here (June and July I think) and August is a month when everyone is on holidays (at least it used to be ). Still, it sucks.

Yeah, the Diamond Line is done, it's nothing more than a slogan on top of a standard Blu+DVD+Digital copy tri-pack.

Although, I must say, I loved the Second Screen for Bambi. Really amazing to be able to study and step through the original animation line drawings for certain sueqences. Still havent looked at any other Second Screen offerings from Disney, but the Bambi "Second Screen" was as close as I'm ever likely to get to studying the original clean-up animation from the Disney archives.

I'm glad to see that Brave has now a 78% on Rotten Tomatoes so is slowly but steadily growing in reputation, so far there have been only 45 reviews so I hope more positive reviews will come. An 80% score is a high possibility. Besides, the "top" critics gives the movie an 86% so I think it shouldn't be dismissed so easily. As a Pixar huge fan who loves every single film they've done (except perhaps Cars 2 which I really enjoy but felt a little disappointed on it) I don't see nothing wrong to see a "traditional" Pixar film with a straightforward narrative, I think that despite any problem that the film may have it is still a worthwhile experience and I will go and see it day one (which in my case will be in July ).

I agree, I loved what they did with the Diamond editions of Snow White and Beauty and the Beast (with the Hyperion Studios ans Beyond Beauty documentaries) but starting with Bambi, they became less and less "groundbreaking" until now you can't tell the difference between a Diamond release and a non-Diamond one. I don't mind if they dropped titles fron the collection as long as they give us quality releases, which so far they've done (except for The Fox and the Hound).

agreed. It's a shame because SW and BatB releases were so prestigious. While of course the pq and aq is most important, the overall package quality has severely decreased. While second screen is a decent feature, it's not reason enough to cut out the 2nd disc. We should have 2 discs worth of bonus materials plus the second screen app. Not to mention, the cover art isn't even on par with previous releases.

I'm more concerned with that 1-disc version you linked me - the UK release I believe. I already pre-ordered it and it said it's region free. If it turns out it's not, I might as well cancel the order. Returning imports is quite a hassle lol.

It's one of the many reasons to keep the platinum editions. The Lion King for example had a nice fold out (and not to mention the rich smell ) slipcover, made of quality cardboard. Compared with the Diamond Edition, it wouldn't last as long compared to my DVD's slipcover.

The 10th Anniversary Edition of Pocahontas DVD has this too. I don't get why Disney can't do that with their Diamond Edition/Blu-Ray releases when Universal is doing it with their Blu-Rays. Probably to save money I'm guessing.

Yeah, I don't care about the Diamond Edition banner either, just a "Special Edition" banner is good enough for me, plus a nice slipcover if possible. Agree though that every release up until now, save Tarzan and FatH, has been top notch. I wasn't expecting to much from my Pocahontas BD but the transfer is breathtaking and the extras are incredible.

Agree, I always thought it was weird that SW and BatB had such better menus and so much more extras than the other Diamonds. I'm not into Second Screen much, but I'd like to see Disney treat each of their titles with the same respect.

On an unrelated note, I managed to score a copy of Snow White today!! I'm so happy, I thought I was gonna have to buy one for 40 euros second-hand! (When it was released I hadn't started with BDs yet). With some amazing luck I found three copies (!) in a local supermarket and I took one home for $12 under the current market/second hand price.

the orignal (UK) 3 disc version , is locked too region B

this will be the same , as its most likely the same blu ray disc out of the old release put in too a new case, cannot see them remastering a new disc , it would cost them too much too just take out the region codeing & press out new disc's, as there was nothing wrong with the orginal release

The old release had a problematic Cine-Explore track. it doesn't work on either my PS3 or my PC drive. they could also lower the bit-rate of the movie to fit more extras in there

No. Should be a retailer discount. Just saw what looked like a buy 2, save $8 being prepared.

sorry too here the problem you had ,you can only hope there do, but i cannot see them doing a remaster on this as its will cost them too much, i think it will be just the orginal old blu ray movie disc, packaged into a new case , but you never now, with disney (it could be a first) , as there like ripping us uk coustmers off with bare bone releases & charge us top prices
