The Steve Austin movie collection is commonly used to swap the trays for a 4 Disc tray, it's $11.29 on Amazon

Meh... those items don’t really add much to the cost of production. They are loss leaders to help add perceived value when they are actually just pennies to make in the “thousands” quantity range.

Write over it with an erasable pen and wipe off quickly with microfiber? Like when someone writes on the whiteboard with Sharpie, if you write over it with erasable pen it comes off. Just throwing something out there

So I will be moving in a few months and am trying to find the best way to transport 800+ steels safely. I keep thinking of having several small boxes lined with bubble wrap on the inside. Has anyone moved their collection across state lines safely? What did you use? Thanks!

Wasn't sure where the appropriate place to post this would be, so apologies if this is the wrong thread.

Any idea of that this may be and how to get rid of it? It kind of looks like glue, it's a bit tacky. I didn't want to mess around with it for fear or messing up the lenticular.

I feel like I say this in almost all my posts, but I'm pretty new to the hobby so I'm not sure if things like this are the norm or even something I should worry about.

Kind of looks similar to one of my lentils. On mine it was just grime from being handled by my niece- it wiped clean with just warm water and a cloth.

Not sure if this has been asked, or can even be answered, but is there one end-all, most collectable, most exclusive, consistently highest priced steelbook?

Consider it the Honus Wagner. Does it exist?

At one time I think it would have been the Future Shop Iron Man but I don't know if that still holds up.

I bought it still sealed, which is the weird part. Also, the envelope that the character cards were in looked somewhat handled. Not much I can do I suppose.

I'll give the warm water a shot. Historically though, no matter the hobby, I usually make things worse by trying to make them better lol.

Thanks for the advice.

Out of curiosity, was Future Shop Iron Man just a really small run size?

Since I've gotten into the hobby, I've read and watched some videos talking about the Future Shop Iron Man, like it's the most sought after steel ever lol.

Personally, I think the top blue banner is pretty distracting.

They have since re-released IRON MAN on SteelBook several times over (some without the banner) so no, I wouldn't say it is a grail anymore.

I would hesitate to call any SteelBook a grail because any SteelBook could be easily reprinted to look identical (or even better) than its original.

Unlike stamps or comic books, there are no dates or controlled releases of SteelBooks, so if you are a speculator, I would suggest you look elsewhere to invest.

I'm no expert but this one must be up there...

Let me know how it turns out. Maybe you were sold a re-wrapped item?

That's what I was thinking. But the Blufans sticker itself on the shrink wrap is in great condition with no evidence of tampering. So maybe I'm just being naive, but I'm not sure how that could be accomplished.

In any case, I did try the warm water. Unfortunately, it didn't work. It was worth a shot though. Thanks for checking up.

Pathetic experience from amazon prime day. Bought 5 steels, 4 of them with obvious damage before opening. I even bought two copies of drive knowing it might be an issue. Both crap.
Escape from NY has loose discs and top left corner scratch. They Live also has a nice big dent in the clouds.
The Assault on Precinct 13 is the only one that looks OK so far, at midnight in poor lighting.

Sometimes you have to buy them early for the best copies.

True. The longer they sit in stores/warehouses, the more probability of the steels getting manhandled and damaged.

Also buying SteelBooks on prime day might be a bad idea period. Amazon is so swamped with orders, i'm sure every warehouse is at or over capacity and people are working as fast as possible, so orders are getting even less care than usual
