Shipping is getting pummeled everywhere. I order from many places worldwide all the time., and several shipments have taken 2+ months to arrive to me. One 3 month old shipment is still MIA.

I did place one large order in Germany last month with a record company I often order from, and they will simply "hold" that order/items until they can ship again.

So that might be something to consider DF... you can accept orders but explicitly state that they will be held until "whenever" International shipping can safely resume. And of course that might be many months until possible, but it's a suggestion.

Holding an order places the burden of responsibility on them however. Now they need to keep track of orders that potentially could take months to ship out. Seems like needless work. Simply pressing enough copies AND keeping them up for sale seems like a much simpler plan. When international shipping is once again deemed safe folks can then order. Dark Forces doesn't need to keep track of months old orders, and folks overseas aren't waiting any longer than they would otherwise. Seems like a win-win to me. Even when the retailer is down the street from me I'd prefer to not have my money tied up for months on end.

As far as international shipping in general goes... I ordered 2 items from China in March. 1 never arrived while the other arrived just shy of 4 weeks from the point of order. I also ordered items from the UK, and Spain over the last few months and these items arrived in around 4 weeks as well... only slightly longer than usual. International shipping seems like less of an issue to me than incompetence at a few shipping hubs in the US. Namely, Jersey City for the USPS and Cincinnati for DHL. Avoiding these two locations seems to fix nearly all the problems folks have faced.

If it's something limited from someone I've ordered from before, I really don't mind at all. The stuff I ordered from Germany was limited and sold out quickly, so I'm sure glad they at least continued to accept foreign orders and will hold them.

Diabolik have also done it with International orders since early May.

DHL lost an Amazon UK package of mine a month ago, and it went through the Cincinnati hub fine. They lost it on the day it was "out for delivery" and it never resurfaced.

DHL, UPS and FedEx seem to be the only way to go if you order stuff from overseas and don't want to wait months for delivery. You'll probably pay through the nose if you choose expedited shipping but knowing you won't wait 1+ months is worth it.

My order arrived today, having shipped on the 17th June, so that's really not bad at all. Didn't help that it sat in Heathrow for a few days for some reason.

Not entirely true. Zavvi uses Royal Mail which transitions to USPS.
Pre-pandemic shipping times were ~10days. Now it’s ~18days, for my steelbooks to arrive.
Also shipping is free.

I ordered 4 things from Base.com a couple of weeks ago, and surprisingly all 4 shipment packages (Royal Mail) arrived within about 7-10 days each. I was shocked by that speed. My previous several UK shipments that went out by Royal Mail each took around 2 months to get here.

I have a couple of Zavvi things that shipped a couple of days ago, so we'll see how fast they get here.

...but a paper magazine subscription I get from the UK is now 4 issues behind in delivery now.

Things have gotten a lot better, thankfully, for most services. I have a few items due in from China that have no updates for over a month. Hoping for the best.

Put Blue Monkey up for pre-order during the sale! It's supposedly at the pressing plant.

AWESOME 70'S LOST VIOLENT ACTION FLICK COMING TO DRIVE-IN #10: The great Leo Fong stars in this ultra-violent kung-fu action flick that played many drive-in screens in the 70's. Dark Force was lucky enough to attain probably one of the only surviving 35mm grindhouse prints for the new HD release and does contain some print wear in spots. But it's great to see in high def as it is 70's drive-in exploitation at it's finest. Also known as THE KILL FACTOR and NINJA ASSASSINS there is no known existing negative on this title. Get ready for some fast moving brutal fun when the DARK FORCE DRIVE-IN SERIES CONTINUES THIS MONTH: Darkforcedvd.com

I don't use Facebook so all my news comes from this thread. Dark Force should send out marketing emails.

Well, that's weird. I thought they had to take it down to fix the subtitle issues in the first place.
