I’ve had it since early 2001. It’s been floating around for a very long time. I’d even watch a grainy version of that ahead of DVD and Blu-Ray versions

Received an email from the UK WBShop to say my order status has changed.

The order status on the website shows as awaiting dispatch.

Has it ever been determined definitively whether the Blu-ray that comes with this is the new master or the old master? I've seen posts saying both.

FWIW the audio specs on the cover seemed to match the old disc and then the cover was revised to remove the mention of a "remastered Blu-ray", now it just says Blu-ray. I honestly think that the BD will simply be the existing theatrical disc from the 8-disc set.

Thanks for the reply. Since I don't even have a 4K player yet, I guess I'll just buy someone's 4K code when it comes out and/or wait for the reviews. Thanks again!

Or you can buy a player and future proof your collection.

There's no such thing... because in 6 months they'll release the Superman 4K boxed set with the Theatrical and the Special Editions in 4K, plus II, II:TRDC, III, IV, and SR. Then the 8K 45th Anniversary release in 5 years, and then the 50th Anniversary 16K release in 2028.

Again... there is no such thing as future proofing. haha.

Warner just knows they're going to make so much bank on 4K versions of III & IV.
You're going to be waiting a long time.

Not to mention if not enough people buy I, then they really have no reason to release ANY others.
You're really shooting yourself in the foot there.

Few brand new disc releases get Black Friday discounts (especially on 4k), unless the studio thinks a title's inventory won't move well without a bargain basement price.
