How the reviews of this film were so strong is beyond me. The concluding scene was well-executed and there was one other pretty decent scene, but other than that it was agonizing. It's without a doubt one of the least scary horror films I've seen and one critic nailed in on the head in saying it builds no tension and uses every cliche in the book. Blair Witch this is not. Waste of time.
first time i saw it i really enjoyed it and there were a lot of scenes that scared the **** out of me but when i went back and watched it a month or so later i was like, "wow. this isn't really scary anymore. a little creepy maybe, but little else." i still enjoy it, as it scares me more than most horror movies, but i didn't love it or really like it. 3/5 from me.

ALL movies could "be worse".

Paranormal Activity could be too. But it would be really really hard.

Pretty perfect review, I loved the ending and a few other scenes, but the characters and acting grated my nerves

I'm glad you liked it. Would you rate it near Pixar quality?

The Human Centipede 2/5

Well, this was a big disappointment to me as i just thought it wasn't as "sick" as people said it was.
P/Q 3/5 A/Q 3/5

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers 4/5

Never understood all the hate for this one, it's just great and i would've loved them to carry on with this story.

Halloween H20 4/5

I've always loved this entry in the Halloween series.

FROZEN

okay, so I got around to watching this last night-- and my feelings are mixed-- first of all let me say that this is a really well made film-- the story is involving and hits the viewer emotionally in many spots--

the thing that most impressed me were the characterizations of the 3 leads--
these people seemed real to me-- they were not obnoxious, not heroic (in an unbelievable way at least) and therefore you really cared about them.
That is of course part of the problem I had with the movie-- I liked these people and wanted them to be okay-- without giving anything away, 2/3rds of the movie these people go through hell. I can't really say I was enjoying this movie although I admired how well directed it was--

I know for a lot of people here my comments above mean the movie "worked" and it gets 5 stars...

I'm not saying everybody should be "just fine" in the end-- there had to be tragedy in a movie of this type-- I just found myself depressed after it was all over--
[Show spoiler]to it's credit I'm thankful that one person survived at the end and that the director chose not to use the alternate take of the wolf scene!--

for me it's a good movie but not one I'd be very likely to watch again or rave about to friends--

3.5/ out of 5.0

I decided to rent it instead, so I cancelled my order and it has said "Short wait" since release day. The reason I cancelled my order was because even people that loved it say its a "one and done". I'll know once I see it.

It’s alright.

It’s kinda similar to “Open Water” (which I hated), in so much as both films have very minimalist stories that pit the characters against nature and the elements. In both cases, it’s still an intense experience, because the fight for survival an intense one, always filled with peril, suspense, and cringe-worthy moments. And in both cases, it’s a very real threat. This kind of thing could happen in real life (“Open Water” especially).

As far as “Frozen” goes, it’s a lot slicker of a film, so I like it already. Photography is solid (thank God, I hated the photography in “Open Water”), and the production value (though limited) works well for this film. Acting is strong; a few screamy parts perhaps, but it’s very raw and realistic. Like Akorsis said.

My only complaint is that it’s a pretty slow-moving film, and it’s a tad tedious for such a simple story. But otherwise, I can see what makes it good.

4/5 (entertainment: 3.5/5, story: 3.5/5, film: 4/5)

This Blu-Ray looks awesome; a slight bit of natural-looking grain and some dull colors perhaps, but I’m sure it’s a perfectly faithful transfer. It looks darn near perfect. Sound quality is pretty good.

PQ: 4.5/5, AQ: 4/5

Watched: Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno) in Spanish class

Love the art direction of the movie, plus the story is enough to keep me interested in this movie.
