Don't let the Shenanigans completely deter you, credit where credit is due, they do have some fun releases that are well worth picking up and they certainly should be praised for their eclectic offerings. Generally speaking most releases are well done as well and so while the theatrics may grow tiresome at times for some folks, I'd never tell anyone to completely disregard there catalog as they do offer some really fun titles that present the best presentation of each film available anywhere.

Most of us that buy from them have fairly vocal opinions about their process/offerings but by and large that hasn't caused any of us to completely swear off all their releases... rather, more often than not individual titles/releases cause a certain level of annoyance and that's when stuff like the above starts to pop up.

All things considered, I'm just happy that they follow through on the titles they say they are going to release, even if each release is a bit of a spectacle at times.

Years ago, someone recorded a video of a large pile of slipcovers being set on fire, and posted it here. You should have seen all of the negative comments and reported posts. By the reaction, you’d think it was a puppy being set ablaze instead.

We don't need to pull stunts to sell our titles. The volume of orders at the Dark Force Superstore has grown so large we have to close the store periodically so as not to get behind with the shipping. Not only that the sales to major stores through MVD have been gigantic. It is evident on how fast runs of these titles are selling out. As far as the promotions we like to keep things entertaining and we have always had a big affiliation with pro wrestling long before Dark Force even existed.

You've been periodically taking down the store since DF inception. The same goes for when you make changes to the site which isn't required to make updates. This is an old tactic that you retained from the BM days.

In the real world, the replication plant would reimburse Dark Force the deemed value of damage incurred. That doesn't necessarily mean Dark Force is going to order replacement slipcovers with the money reimbursed. They could, for instance, sell the damaged inventory as B-stock instead at a lower price and call it a day.

Does Dark Force have any more horror titles or slashers planned for the rest of the year? Blue Monkey and Primal Rage were pretty great releases in my opinion, and while I’m excited for Low Blow, I would love more titles similar to the aforementioned.

Is there going to be some sort of compensation? This all reeks of bullshit and is reminding me of why I had stopped buying CR releases long ago.

You'll still get your copy with a slip. The "Alert" didn't say all slips were destroyed only a fair number of them. Whether this is a real incident or not won't impact your already made order. It will however hopefully result in a lower price point for slipless copies so that those of us that refused to pay $40 for a copy of the film can now get one for closer to $30.
