Yup. But they used to dispatch pre-orders on a Thursday (1st Class). If they're dispatching a day earlier they can use 2nd Class and still get it to people in time for the weekend.

Just a fun side note: we've gotten to know our various postmen (and women) quite well because they personally hand us parcels each and every day rather than just sticking them through the letterbox and they confided in us that the whole 1st/2nd Class thing is bullshit anyway . They've all basically said everything just gets piled together and delivered at much the same rate without much thought for either.

They are still advertising pre-orders as being dispatched Royal Mail First Class though and Zoom's standard free 2nd Class option is Sent via Whistl which adds a couple of days to the delivery time.

The Fifth Elephant. UK Stylee.

You can see that the listed artwork was wrong and that the grey banner has been corrected and now says "+ Blu-ray" as it does indeed come with the 1080p disc.

It's very possible that the sharpening was baked into the SFX footage.

There seems to be sharpening baked into the whole Sony disc to varying amounts. I do think this can be more pronouced on some sfx shots. But even scenes where you don't or cannot seeing the outline of EE, it's got that "hard" look. I suspect if this is a new scan without the sharpening, some people will be disappointed that it now looks "soft".

That's what people said about the Gaumont transfer and I still prefer that overall to the Sony UBD.

First impression - haven't watched the whole thing but holy shit, Batman. This looks approximately eleventy-seven thousand times better than the Sony disc. As David M said - nowhere near as processed so that alone would make it a must buy, but that ain't the half of it. The colour, boys and girls. Sweet fancy moses, da colour. The luverly warmth is back (oh how I missed it). All golden hues and lush colours bathing my eyeballs.

How is the encoding quality? Same ol' Studio Canal botch job or an improvement?

Only watched snippets but it looks great. That David Mackenzie seems to know what he's doing

Can you confirm what bonus features there are? Same as the old UK blu ray disc?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if SC (or at least the person that stated it) just had no clue what exactly they do have there, when they stated it's the same master.

Under further news, SC appears to be considering an exchange for Flash's German audio track. Again. Good old SC. It's mono instead of an existing better stereo track if I got that right. I might not bother this time though - I did exchange Cliffhanger just because and to see if maybe they'd improve the encoding as well back then...
