it makes no sense at all for there to be an order to the slides... as long as they are all displayed in the correct frequency & length you will be fine

So what's the correct frequeny and length? does the length really matter? Is there a difference between 5, 10 20, 30, or even 60 seconds? What about the fact that when in torch mode, D-Nice settings for calibration, you can't see the colors changing between a brighter red to a darker red does that matter or can the tv tell wether or not we can see it change?

30 seconds should be fine.

As for the different color gradations, i dont think it matters how bright the TV is. the colors slides has those different shades built it. i think whats happening is the brightness of the TV is affecting how you see the different shades. but its still working.

Okay last question. One of the red shades was duplicated so there is only 4 actual shades instead of five. I made an extra one in photoshop half way between the one that was duplicated and the next shade down. Is it okay to do that or should I just leave it out? I don't know if there is some specific thing to it the way it was made and I don't want to screw anything up. Thanks for all responses guys.

I say u just throw the break in idea out the window and start enjoying your Kuro!
Thats what I did and I dont regret it.
Then get it professionally calibrated when u get some money or in a few months

I have thought about that. I've tried watching a few things but can't get through it because part of me just thinks it will be safer to do the burn in period. Especially with my luck I just don't want to take chances. I also want to get the best out of the tv and if that means waiting a few days to really enjoy it, I'm willing to do that. I would love to get it professionally calibrated but with the amount we've spent on new HT equipment that isn't going to happen for a long time. Which I'm okay with. I know having it done professionally will be very beneficial, I'll just take what I can get now and be happy with that.

The slides Do Not have to be in any specific order, just pop in the SD card and let it play

I don't see where it would matter either. I used the SD files too on my 500M and on a Panasonic plasma with no problems. I remember those slides going from red to green to blue to light grey to dark grey then back to red again. After seeing 300 hours worth of color slides, you tend to remember them like they are burned into your brain.

Thanks guys! I started running it at midnight about 55 minutes ago. I already ran it off and on for 17 hours and we have a party on Saturday night at our place so it will be running until then. I couldn't get i it to transition straight from one color to the next. There's less than a second fade out then in to the next color which I think is fine. I'm hoping at least. Were watching the old Smasung 52A650 which is sitting on the floor right now until the KURO is ready. The picture quality and blacks are no where near that of the KURO's. The only thing I do kind of regret is going from the 52" to the 50". I probably won't notice as much once the Sammy is gone and it couldn't be leaving any faster.

Default Stuck pixel during break in period

I'm about 97 hours into the break in time on the 500M and a stuck pixel has emerged only when the blus are present during the slideshow. Should I stop the break in and try to get it out or leave it going and try to get it out when th 150 hours are up? If Id do wait will it cause uneven burn in where the pixel is stuck? I'm not sure what I should do.

PRO-141FD for $3,799.98 at Best Buy or around $8,000 on EBAY (plus other comments)

I stopped in my local Best Buy on Tuesday. They only had an open box PRO-151FD on display and a PRO-141FD on display. Best Buy had the $7,000 PRO-141FD marked down on clearance for only $3,799.98 plus $399.98 for the table top stand. That is the lowest price Best Buy has every had a factory new PRO-141FD listed for. When I asked the Best Buy employee if they had any new PRO-141FD's in stock they informed me that they were all out of stock and only the floor model was left. Other Best Buys in other areas of the country might have a new PRO-141FD in stock. At $3,799.98 that is a great deal for a Retail Store (Cheapest recorded mail order price on the PRO-141FD was around $3,500 in the Summer of 2009).

Some dealers online are currently selling the $7,000 PRO-141FD for $7,495. That is around $500 above list price. An EBAY dealer is selling the PRO-141FD for $7,996. About a $1,000 over list price.
http://www1.bottomdollar.com/p__Pioneer_Elite_Kuro_PRO_141FD_60_Plasma_Display, __720664825/search=pro-141fd

What is surprising is Best Buy had the 50 inch PRO-101FD listed in their computer for $4,499.98. They had a total of 94 PRO-101FD's in stock at the warehouse. My local Best Buy store has never had a PRO-101FD on display. I informed the employee about that and he did not know why they never placed that November 2008 model on display.

Best Buy should place the PRO-101FD on display. They have 94 of them in stock and it is hard to sell a product when it is not even on the floor. On top of that having a price of $4,499.98 for the 50 inch and a price of $3,799.98 for the 60 inch is not a wise decision. The 60 inch is a better value and a cheaper price.

Even though the Signature Series Pioneers are Pioneers flagship hand checked and inspected displays, it appears that those models are harder to sell compared to the standard Pioneer Elites. Most consumers want a display that contains the speakers, table top stand, and tuners all included in the price. The Elite Signature series are more for high-end custom installations that require a surround sound receiver with speakers (Or HDMI soundbar) , external tuner, and table top stand.

I was offered a price of $2500 for brand new in the box 101 at a BB. I already have too many Kuros so I passed. This price included free delivery 30 miles away.

Just saw Avatar in 3D; if the new 3D TVs coming out soon are going to look anywhere close to this, I wouldn't worry about trying to get a Kuro or any other high price HDTV now.

Hey guys! Does anyone have a PDF (or something) of the optimal picture settings for the 9G 151-FD? Not the downgraded calibration that should be done professionally, but the regular menu settings to display the best picture possible for the break-in period until I can have to calibrated professionally. This would be much appreciated! I just got my 151 yesterday!

Again, I want to reiterate that, on my 5020, I never did a second of break-in. Back when I first got it, I simply ran the Image Washer or whatever the heck it's called on the Pio itself before shutting it off for the night for a week or two. Almost one year later, no problems.

I was posting this information to help other members out. I have already installed several PRO-141FD's and PRO-101FD's for family members in different states. Currently I am not in the market for another Pioneer plasma unless one of my relatives or family members is looking to purchase one.

I hope the first or second generation 3-D TV's will at least match the Pioneer in terms of picture quality and black levels when it comes to 2-D material. Right now if I was in the market for another 1080P display it would be the PRO-141FD or PRO-101FD since no other LCD or plasma display has even matched the picture quality of the Pioneer 9th generation 2008 plasma's yet.

hi i have a vsb200 soundbar and a krp 500m. i wanted to watch tv today and im not getting any sound going straight analog with red/white plug.

i called pioneer and they said its because the soundbar is less than 6 ohms. They said you better disconnect it immediately before it damages your plasma. the krp-500m is able to handle 6-16ohms according to the manual. It handles 6, 8 and 16ohms impedence levels.

is this true? what can i do at this point? any advice?

You shouldn't be trying to connect a powered soundbar to you 500M. You might end up damaging the 500M's internal amp. You need to find some non-powered speakers or use a reciever for audio.
Source to reciever to 500M
