Flashbacks are ok! Unless it's Hayden Icantact. This film needs to stay as far away as possible from the PT so it's not tainted in anyway way shape or form. I hope this is a breath of fresh air and the story moves on.

Save your breath. Some people have already made up their minds before even seeing the film. They obviously are so hung up on the past, they let it blind them from looking towards the future. I feel sorry for them, but it ain't gonna take away from my enjoyment of this juggernaut in the making!

Leaked info from a few months back said Luke doesn't go dark side but he tapped into something very powerful and went into exile after ROTJ. In exile he went a bit crazy. He has to find his way back to his rational mind. So he isn't evil or dark side. He's just unstable.

It's not ALL bullshit though Ernest, because the trailer confirmed a fair few bits of previously leaked info. I know you can't get your head around it but Luke (possibly) becoming one of the most powerful force users ever renders the events of the previous films moot in a way, it's about Luke having so much power that he can feel himself becoming detached from simple matters of right and wrong, and so he isolates himself in order to come to terms with his God-like abilities.

...and less like this...



...in reality, maybe it'll be something in-between, but it would seem out-of-character for Luke to turn all-out evil and abuse his powers.

We just went through this in November with Latino Review and AICN "reporting" that the SW7 teaser would premiere with The Hobbit 3. That didn't happen -- LucasFilm chose to make it an online event, like Universal and Jurassic World.

Same exact thing is going to happen with the trailer. It's going to be an online event, not simply attached to a movie.
