Who would they be? I don't think anyone minds if others enjoy the disks.

I have a huge movie collection and it's hard enough to find time to watch all my movies but also trying to watch all the special features which are usually boring to me is even harder.

My avatar is Goliath from Gargoyles, a show that they started to release on DVD and never finished. Honestly I am just happy when they release a movie I want on the format I want. Special features rarely catch my attention.
Couldn't.

Yeah, you're right of course, if we're bringing in Destroyer too. And I was forgetting Barbarian has an extra featurette.

Aside from the audio issues, it's unfortunate a new scan wasn't done for Barbarian....as it was clearly done for Destroyer.

How do you know that a new scan was not done for Barbarian?

Anyone listen to the foreign Conan The Destroyer's commentary yet? Was wondering how Olivia's commentary was on it. She is so cute and hot.

i thought the video was great. enjoyed the tomb scene especially. sometimes it was like seeing it for the first time. the only audio issue that bothered me was - when conan grabs and dumps the hand soup. music seemed way too low. was it? also the princess ending was horrid and pointless. why do i need to see like 5 different profile cutaways of her. american ending is 10x better. overall, happy with the release.

I was not aware of a Japanese release. Are you referring to the Hong Kong BD?

Fox doesn't have the rights in the US, Universal does.

You can always tell the look of a new scan. The film grain is typically much smaller and tighter from the greater detail. Older scans have larger, globbier grain patterns as the resolution is not as good.

In addition, there's seldom EE and DNR added to new scans as there is no need to digitally manipulate the image. Just look at the pics of both movies especially zoomed and you can tell. Barbarian and Destroyer look much different from each other.

The German DVD is anamorphic - for those who can play PAL.
