how did anything in the Raimi versions "wow" you? They were the epitome of mediocre. The first one, especially, with it's Power-Ranger-esque Green Goblin.

Was this new one a great film? Not at all. But it was definitely a step above any of the Raimi films.

I'm pretty sure if Sam raimi had more creative control and that Sony wouldn't have pressured him then his films would've been different.

The Lizard is why I thought the movie was just "OK" and nothing amazing. The VFX team could have worked longer on getting the actors voice synced perfectly with the Lizards mouth. I actually laughed when he spoke as the Lizard because of how awful it looked.

Maybe so... Probably so. But what if's mean nothing. The movies have to be judged as what they are.

Raimi's SMs have been mostly mediocre (save Spidey 2).

The cast of SM and Maguire and Dunst have been woeful throughout.

Still not sure if I should pick this one up. I liked it, but it was also heavily flawed imo. I like Raimi's Spider-Man much better. This reboot didn't improve on anything, and it also makes the same mistakes as Raimi's film. Yet, I hear people saying that it'll be much more enjoyable the 2nd time around. Lizard was also a joke. Much like Raimi's Venom. Both laughable, horribly adapted and extremy bad looking.

Does the regular Blu-ray/dvd combo pack of a slipcover? If so, is the Target exclusive cover different from the regular edition?

Thought this was 100% an improvement on Raimi's first film. The casting, acting, and story were all better IMO.

Can't comment on the film itself as I haven't seen it, but it was made purely for money purposes and not to lose the film rights to Spider-man. I enjoyed the first Spider-Man, and SM2 is considered one of the best comic books ever made. SM3 is certainly flawed, and I suspect the studio kept interfering. But it's not as awful as some make it out to be.

TOTAL opposite opinions obviously on this. I never disliked Raimi's Spidey trilogy but it has NO HEART! It's campy as hell which is something I have little tolerance for & Maguire & Dunst have ZERO chemistry IMHO. The acting from just about all involved is subpar at best. There was never a moment where I genuinely cared one way or the other what was happening to the characters. Then they use the same ending in every film, MJ in trouble again Spidey to the rescue. YAWN! How unimaginative can you be? Anyway all that being said, it really wasn't a bad first trilogy it just missed the mark for me all the way around.

I´m so angry right know. I just bought the Amazing Spiderman 3D here in Mexico at Sam's Club the day before yesterday. This one was distributed here by Disney, which is famous for axing supplements and stuff.

Well... this one was no different. They got both 3D and 2D versions on the same disc. Result?? NO ENGLISH DTS HD, just dolby digital!!!!

my GOD!!!!

oh but the just 2D edition HAS DTS HD... how can that be ???? !!!!!

I'm now trying to sell it and buy it imported DAMN!

Exactly, Hollywood is a business that puts out products. And people can choose to buy or view those products or not.

I really want the 3D steelbook, but I can't stomach the asking price, so I'm going to settle on the 2D version that's only $18.96 now.
