Set mine to rest last night and didn't notice until this morning that the Orange light was still blinking and the fan was still running on the ps4 whilst no power was being delivered via the usb since I have that limited to just 3 hours now.

After the record sales and positive press, it feels as if Sony stopped giving a f--k. I really dont think they've generated any positive buzz about the system at all for this year. Its been one dissapointment after the other. Things started to go downhill when Jack Tretton left the company. I wish he were still around

Given the very basic year 2000 era usb music player, it's clear that Sony's priorities are not media functionality and they're certainly not in a hurry add features that should have been there at launch. Hell, Microsoft had to light their butt on fire to get 3D blu-ray support. I find it ridiculous that their subscription music streaming app has playlist support (and it's been available since launch), but the USB music player doesn't. |

Aside from the obvious network issues that continue to plague PSN, for me it all started with E3. I felt like Sony really let me down with how it handled coverage of the event through the PSN. I mean it's only the biggest, most covered videogame show of the year and Sony treated it like a complete afterthought. We could barely find any coverage, what few videos were posted we were forced to watch in little crappy windows, By contrast, Xbox Live had E3 coverage out the wazoo on the X1. They literally had full screen 1080p trailers of ever game they showed at E3 along with interviews, pics, etc. I posted a pretty lengthy rant about this back when E3 was going on and got chastised pretty hard for my opinion. It feels like as each day/week/month goes by, the X1 slowly gains more and more positive momentum and Sony is slowly losing it. It's not showing up in the sales figures yet but in terms of media buzz and general "vibe" amongst gamers, it seems like there's more positivity surrounding X1 than PS4. Even looking at exclusives, an area that's supposed to be Sony's biggest advantage, for both system's first year it could definitely be argued that the X1 has had a much better year. Plus they have Halo Masterchief Collection still coming. I sure hope Sony has big things planned for 2015. Otherwise they could very well see their lead shrink. |

So I switched to the Call of Duty Advanced Warfare theme yesterday and wow, it is lightning fast. Anyone else notice a speed increase with new themes? If I recall even sending messages was so much faster.
Either that or Sony got their act together and fixed the network latency and other issues. |

Well good thing I saw this forum. I had put my ps4 on rest mode last night and came and checked it on my lunch break sure enough it was blinking orange all night till now. I unplugged it and restarted it and it seems to be alright. Hopefully it didn't get damaged somehow.

A lot of disdain for Sony recently in here. I'm curious as to what everyone expects from the PS4. If you are not happy with the current set-up than why not jump ship to XBone or to the PC.

Yep, mine was still blinking when I got in from work and the fan was still going.
Couldn't turn it on so had to hold down the power button to restart it. Had to go through the check up then to make sure everything was where it was meant to be. Won't be using "rest" until Sony confirm a fix, I don't want a corrupted PS4 thank you very much. |

Fat 32 is fine. It was fine on PS3, it is fine on PS4. Again, of ALL the things we could be B*ching about and asking to update, this is like of 0.001 importance. Far ahead of that we have: - Video format file support (MP4, MKV, AVCHD...) - Suspend/ Resume - Bluetooth accessory support (Media remote...) - DLNA - User custom Folders - HBO Go App - Hard Drive backup |

I don't see us getting custom folders. Not with the new "top 15" feature and then everything else is in "My Library." What I would actually like to see Sony do is default the "My Library" icon to the first icon on the XMB and then everything else to the right of that by popularity. |

Apparently if you start the system in Safe Mode and then reinstall the system update it fixes the problems with rest mode. I read this on the Sony support site, I would provide a link but I'm at work and can't access "gaming" sites. I tried it when I was home for lunch and the fix worked for me.

http://us.playstation.com/support/sy.../ps4/index.htm But no indication of what the colored dot means. I thought it might have been for Online Available/ Online Unavailable (user set)/ Offline status, but I couldn't find a status set by users anwywhere, so my guess (emphasis on guess) is: Blue : Online, Available Green: Online, Grouped Yellow: Online, Streaming Red: Offline Let's figure this one out ![]() |

Sony has different priorities these days since they are sitting at the top. Doesn't mean they won't get to things, but lets be realistic - Sony and MS are going to have different levels of cadence and urgency. Another reason why closer (fair) competition can be a good thing - light a fire under both their rears! ![]() |
