It seems like the biggest issue with First Blood is that the blacks skew a bit green, and no original audio.
Is the green issue THAT noticeable?

Other than that, I have zero complaints.

Rambo II is fun for me as a historical overview to Cameron's refinement of "the PTSD veteran going back to the war zone" theme that he honed to perfection with ALIENS. It's also a great, dumb action spectacle. At one point I'm like "What? Rambo is crying?!" and I start laughing. As others stated, if you're into Canon Pictures action flicks of the 80s, it's a big budget version of that kinda schlock, and I can dig it.

Rambo III totally sucks.

Rambo (2008) is freaking spectacular, IMO. I wish it was available in 4k, I'd order the box set in a heartbeat.
Just wait till Rambo 5 comes to home video. Im waiting out. But the black friday deals are making me want to break.

Maybe a Thanksgiving night viewing of Rambo III. I watched the other two already, wish I waited until I had the new TV but still enjoyed the hell out of them.

Crenna's a good sport in Rambo III as well, he was 60-odd at the time and he's still in better shape than I ever will be.
Yeah, I respect Crenna, and don't blame him too much for the performance in First Blood. In fact, he's great at the end while listening to Rambo's monologue. The worry, concern and pain in his face is real, yo!

As for Rambo III... I watch the "trilogy" every 3-5 years, but skip Rambo III. I only watch it every 10-12 years. I last watched it in 2004, so it's time I sat down and did it again.
I am waiting for that moment when I 'click' better with its cheesiness. I just find Rambo II to be such a satisfying "guilty pleasure" that when I finally sit down to watch the third movie, it just degrades into a merciless display of stupidity. It's like the movie is DARING me to say "come on, just say it's dumb. That shows that you don't know how to have fun with dumb fun action movies." Then I want to say "I refer you to Exhibit A: Rambo II. And Exhibit B: Missing in Action 1, 2, and 3."

Either way, I am going to steal my buddy's copies of the trilogy and watch them soon. It's time for me to revisit Rambo III this time around, as well.
Maybe I will like it this time (?)!

If you haven't before, I HIGHLY recommend pulling up Cameron's original script for First Blood Part II. Stallone changed the final shooting script drastically, and for the worse, but Cameron's actual script is fantastic, complete with what I have to assume was a role for Bill Paxton (you'll know when you read it - it's a great character).

It's a genuine crime Stallone didn't just shoot the script instead of doing major rewrites, but that was Sly at the time.

Ironic, since that's why they ended up not going with Kirk Douglas as Trautman in the first film.

Yeah, this forum is the first place on earth I’ve ever seen love for Rambo iii on. Not really surprised after having seen some of the other favorites on here

Watched all 3 today. Solid PQ. Thankfully my black bars remained black. I preferred the warmer color temperature. The AQ for 2 is so poor. Very pleased with them all.

Leonard Maltin gave III a more positive review than II. There are other critics back in the day who did also...so yes they do exist!

I love all three films and I couldn't get to BB fast enough since they were 7.99 each. Can't wait to enjoy them this weekend!

Default Rambo 4k only HDX digital

I bought first blood and first blood part 2 4k and the digital copy on both movies were only HDX. VUDU show the UHD would be an additional $12.99. Anyone else have that happen too?
