I think this is my favorite part of this exchange: the fight over the movies' lengths as though it is supposed to prove anything about the two films' qualities.
Cause we all know that Lawrence of Arabia is a lesser film than Manos: the Hand of Fate because Lawrence of Arabia is longer. |

Even if this was true, he did give a great performance as John Doe. It's not as it's exactly 114 minutes long. I am pretty sure Blade Runner is a bit longer. Will check the disc tomorrow. Quote:

Do you some mental blocks? You called the Russo's hacks multiple times.

Some of the longest things I've sat through have been 80 minute long movies that are terrible. I've sat through 4 hour movies that have spun by. Pacing isn't about length, but about the editing within individual scenes. I think you have a lot to learn about movies. Maybe you should listen more. |

That's fine, but i somewhat prefer Officer K to him. Don't see what his real life scandals have to do with his acting performance. Also, Freeman and Pitt acted well in that film. I tend to like Scott's work and Alien is the only film comparable to Fincher's best. For me, Se7en, Fight Club and Zodiac are all 10/10, the social network is incredibly written, Gone Girl is interesting and The Game is a crazy plot. Even his misses are entertaining or somewhat, doing something new in the directing. |

I think Blade Runner is overrated. A great film overall sure, but the only things that really stood out as fantastic were the villain, the third act and the cinematography.
The story itself I felt was kind of slow and simple, Deckard comes across as unlikeable and, the sound effects are bad, and the biggest issue for sure was that it falls flat on having any depth or arc for it's characters For me Se7en had better acting overall, a much more focused and overall better story, far superior directing and a much better soundtrack. It also beats out Blade Runner for best twist scene too with the box twist. I don't see how having a simply different opinion, means that somewhat, and somehow i am "wrong". Or bashing something.. I am taking obviously about the subject. Me not liking Russo films doesn't have anything to do with saying Se7en > Blade Runner. |
