I don't like it when they can't easily be pulled off. However, some rubbing alcohol or even Goo Gone works fine for me and never damages anything.

If it doesn't peel off right away then it's best to not bother forcing it as the slipcover will just be damaged by fingernails and whatever else.

I used to hate them all...now from people on the forums I like to keep factory ones. If they are price tags or anything else, I remove them with lighter fluid. Works every time. What I really hate stickers on is video game cases, specifically used ones. Man, sometimes they just keep pasting more stickers over ones that are already there and sometimes they even put them on the spines on the paper artwork! I'm just like what the ****! Sometimes even if I buy a new release it's already unwrapped with a price sticker on it. I ask for a wrapped one every time.

I really love the shine and vibrancy that results from using Goo-Gone on a slipcover, especially ones with the sparkly finish that most of the Disney Diamond Edition releases have, but my question is:

Will using Goo-Gone as a "slipcover shiner" leave any lasting negative effects on the surface of the slip?

This thread is kind of funny, as it would be my understanding that while some people may not care, for those that do care, none of those people like having stickers on slip covers.

Had to peel off a huge white price sticker on the beautiful Thor 3D slip. Luckily it was still new and fresh and everything came off clean.

I do the following (most of the time) for purchases at a B&M store:
  • -Careful inspection of blu-ray w/ slipcover. Corners need to be as mint as possible on both spines. No creases, tears, or bends on slipcover. I will usually grab about 5-8 releases to inspect at a time, putting back the less than desirables as I'm thinning them down to "the one."
  • -Once the slipcover passes, it is removed and the artwork in the case is inspected: it needs to be lined as perfectly as possible if security stickers are present so that removing the security sticker won't damage the artwork. Actually, even if there is no security sticker on the case, I tend to look for nicely aligned artwork in the case.
  • -Slipcover then goes back on the blu and a careful inspection of stickers on slipcover commences. Any stickers relevant to the movie need to be as mint as possible. Price stickers, plays on ps3 stickers, dc etc. stickers are overlooked because they will be coming off and discarded.
  • -After purchasing, the blu-ray is opened at home, and if it is an eco case, it is swapped out with a non-eco case (if I have any on hand at the time). If it is not an eco case, then the black rectangular security tag is removed from inside. The big square ones are left in the case (they are way too much trouble to remove). If there is any residue left, then a q-tip with a little Goo Gone is used on it, and the area is wiped clean with a tissue or napkin.
  • -An examination of the stickers is next. Sometimes, you can tell just by looking at a sticker if it is going to be easy to remove (sticker is on lenticular part of cover, and the sticker is hanging off the edge and not sticking to the cardboard). Any sticker that gives me a hint of trouble gets some heat with a blow-dryer for about 5-10 seconds.
  • -Once stickers are removed, the ones I want to keep find a home inside the case. I will usually find a spot in a corner or under a disc, but I have also stuck them behind inserts with a plain white back. If the sticker is large enough, and there is a square security sticker inside, the sticker will go over the square security sticker.
  • -If there is any sticky residue left on the slipcover, then the next step is determined by the type of slipcover it is. For the velvety ones, I will hang onto a sticker or those security stickers used to seal a blu, and I will use the sticky side to dab the remaining residue off. If I don't have any stickers to use, then I'll just get a small amount of packaging tape and use that to dab it. No liquids are used to remove the residue off the velvety slips. If it is just about any other type of slip, I will whip out a q-tip and apply a little Goo Gone, wait a few seconds, then wipe off the residue and Goo Gone with some tissue paper or napkin.
  • -The stickerless slipcover is then placed back on the non-eco-cased-stickered-on-the inside-blu-ray and placed on the shelf.

For on-line orders, I will start at the fourth bullet. If the slipcover is damaged, I won't bother to send it back for a replacement, and I'll either live with it or seek out a replacement later. So, that pretty much sums it up for me, lol! I kind of wish I just threw them away now.

Haha I definitely agree with that ,I just don't understand its like the people who put these stickers on have never bought a movie or are just to lazy to care about how their collection looks.
