Regardless of how this sequel turns out to be...
I'm surely getting the Leg Lamp this year just in time for Christmas. ![]() ![]() ![]() http://www.frys.com/product/7265603 |

Not to scare you to death, but there is a whole bunch of movies based on Ralph Parker and his family. A Christmas Story just happened to be the big one (because it was released in theaters). His original movies were part of a TV series on PBS. They include: The Phantom of the Open Hearth (which has the FIRST leg lamp)(1976), The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters (1982 starring Matt Dillon), The Star-Crossed Romance of Josephine Cosnowski (1983 starring Jerry O’Connell) and Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss (1993). Also, My Summer Story (It Runs in the Family, 1994) was done about ten years later. A Christmas Story would become first if you put them in order; followed by My Summer Story. The TV series was based on Ralph as a teenager so they would come after. It is not known exactly where A Christmas Story 2 would fall. I know we bash this new movie, but it feels like an abomination (as most direct-to-video movies are). Warner could have at least given it a crazy title like the others, then it wouldn’t feel like they are trying to ruin our beloved movie. But I am intrigued to see how bad it is. Where is the review for it on this site?! |

Good or Bad, I highly doubt Clark would be happy about this at all.
I have personally heard him say something along the lines of - - i keep getting asked to remake or sequalise A Christmas Story, and thats the one thing I will never let them touch - - - And here we are a few years after his sad death, and they have done it anyway. |

Review/preview of the film is up, and it's exactly what you'd expect. I love the last paragraph of the review:
“A Christmas Story 2” closes with a conventional display of holiday charity and do-goodery, along with a tree-side present unwrapping montage to successfully mirror the original film. It’s a cheap sense of seasonal morality, but appears perfectly at home inside such a relentlessly artificial production. Instead of bringing these itchy characters into a new realm of domestic destruction, encouraging a sequel that urges the franchise forward, “A Christmas Story 2” merely traces over previous accomplishments, hoping adults won’t mind the repetition and kids won’t understand they’re being fed moldy leftovers. I'll never watch this ![]() |

This was an embarrassing bad movie. I bought it on black friday for $7.99 at Best Buy out of curiousity and boy am i wishing i hadn't of. I thought maybe since Daniel Stern was in the movie it would be funny but it wasn't one bit, and even Stern himself was ridiculous in the movie. The cast seems so proud of themselves during the extra features for being part of the movie, I was shocked. This is going straight to FYE for trade in!
