Hilarious - back when I was young and stupid in 2003 I was writing a game that would be like GTA, but also with bonus mortal combat type game play as a side game because I thought I was cool and that I could make a difference. I had 13 villains written into the game and what their powers/weapons would be and I called it "Killer Instinct" - never knew that title was used already.
I had Jason, Michael, Freddy, Leatherface, Pinhead, Chucky, Candyman, Leprechaun, Norman Bates, Carrie, Ghostface, The Fisherman, and The miner (My bloody Valentine). It was a very detailed outline haha I wonder if I still have it around. I'd buy a game like that in a nano second - mortal combat style would be cool, but a GTA setting would be even more awesome.

I'll probably get laughed for this, but I always thought Wentworth Miller would make a good Jason after watching him on Prison Break.

I want a Woody Allen Friday The 13th films since we are all throwing out ideas. Or a Malick Friday the 13th with 34 minute shots of just Jason sharpening his machete while the wind whispers in the background.

How about Quentin Tarantino?

Jason, Freddy, Michael, Pinhead, Chucky, Leatherface and Candyman sitting around at a diner discussing whether "Every Breath You Take" is a stalker song or not.

Bring back director Joseph Zito (Director of the Final Chapter)

Corey Feldman (Tommy Jarvis)

Erich Anderson as Jason (This i think would be awesome,he played Rob in the Final chapter and was killed by Jason, perfect height and build, needs to shed a few pounds but he can easily do that and he loves the Final Chapter as well does the director.

Harry Manfredini (score more in tone with parts1,2,4)

Tom Savini (make-up,no CGI blood effects)

Real 3-D,no conversion.

BREAKING: Jason Voorhees Will Return On 'Friday the 13th'!

Quote:
Breaking news Tuesday evening as sources tell Bloody Disgusting that Paramount Pictures’ new Friday the 13th is taking the first Friday the 13th spot of 2015, opening in theaters March 13, 2015.

No word yet on writers, if Derek Mears will return as Jason Voorhees, or what version of the sequel they will use. There are rumors of a potential found footage angle that Paramount might be pursuing.

While there are no official confirmations regarding exactly what form the sequel will come in, Platinum Dunes is rumored to be returning to produce. We hope to have confirmation on that soon. The 2009 Friday the 13th remake, directed by Marcus Nispel, made $90M worldwide. In it, “A group of young adults discover a boarded up Camp Crystal Lake, where they soon encounter Jason Voorhees and his deadly intentions.“

Honestly a more artistic approach to the series would be welcome. It could feature great cinematography and a chilling score that incorporates elements of the classic Manfredini theme. I can see long takes and beautifully composed still shots of the lake and woods at sunset and at night with the water glimmering and also in the morning with fog crawling over. Some atmosphere needs to make a return. You should feel like you're there and witnessing a massacre. It should be visceral, but still entertaining and not ugly and extremely disturbing. I picture a great silhouette shot of Jason against the sunset, contemplating his horrific murders. Even though Jason doesn't speak, the filmmakers can do more to characterize him and his evil. Yeah, I want Roger Deakins to shoot this thing.

A winter setting would be awesome! I believe that is the only thing we haven't seen in a Jason movie yet..

It was first reported back in June that Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes were teaming for a sequel to the Friday the 13th 2009 remake, which was followed by rumblings that the studio was considering a "found footage" approach to the horror franchise. Now Paramount has scheduled the new film based on the masked slasher Jason Voorhees for a March 13th, 2015 release date. However, given that 'Friday the 13th' is listed as the surely tentative title, it seems the 2015 return to Camp Crystal Lake will not be a direct sequel, but another remake entirely. Ironically the 13th installment to the Friday the 13th series altogether, the new film's March release date pits it against Disney's Cinderella as well as Warner Bros.' In the Heart of the Sea. What do you think?

I too, really hope they go with the Winter idea and decide against the "Found-Footage" route they are rumored to be taking.

I personally think the reboot is great (a tad too long though) and would love to see Marcus Nispel return to the Director's chair.

PS. 2015 is looking absolutely fantastic so far!

The only one that had a plot was part 6, which is why it's the best of the series.

I am praying they don't go down the found footage route, we already have enough of that crap on the market as it is.

Every single 'horror' movie of this type has used the Teens, sex, maniac appears, all dead formula for pretty much since the movies started.

I'd expect all the above 'rules' of such a movie to be present even in a 'remake' which imo are just really updates with flash new visuals for the times with the same rehashed content from a slightly different angle

If it's another remake they mine aswell go the found footage route.

If it's a sequel to 2009 then no.
