I would have laughed my ass off if that happened.

Glad that things start to be happening that are important to the larger plot. I know that the premiere and following few episodes have to pull double duty and reintroduce the plot threads left over from the previous season and then bring them into the new story of the new season while also introducing new plot threads entirely. Because of this sometimes the pace has to slow down to give everything ample opportunity to catch on so to speak.

Thank goodness this episode actually had things going on. Aside from the last few minutes of last week's episode, I thought that most of the first two episodes was a slog.

Cersei, Jamie, in the Sept?

My Gods...seriously? LOL.

When she grabbed for the sheet I thought for sure she was going to pull Joffrey's corpse down on top of them accidentally (or not!)!

That was some shocking shiz to me.
That was
[Show spoiler]straight from the book. At least the idea...execution was a little different.

It really wasn't in character. In the books, that entire event never happened. In fact, the hound basically implies that he would rather die than be a theif, and his actions pretty much bear that out.

There is so much good stuff in the book I am not sure why they decided to add that part in. Just know that at this point he has completely deviated from the books. It kind of pissed me off that they put that in there.

Yeah, they are a "thing" - I'll have to look, in the GoT:Ascent game they are a named item.

They make a lot of sense, especially for actors who are playing dead LOL - the eye twitches are what give it away every time.

Is it just me or are there others that also find Daenerys' story very repetitive at the moment? She just seems to be doing the same thing, just in different cities. She hasn't really developed much at all since around Ep 4 (whichever the one where Grey Worm joins her) of Season 3. That's almost a season plodding along. It's something we don't need to see on screen all the time. I get the feeling the show runners are forcing these scenes because she's a fan favourite and people would be pissed if she didn't show up for 3-4 eps at a time.

The new Daario just isn't working for me either, why they re-cast him I don't know but it was a bad move. The original was much more interesting. He was cocky/arrogant yet mysterious and he looked more unique. The new guy, even though he hasn't had much to do yet is just not as interesting. He looks like most other characters on the show (you could mistake him for a Stark relative!) and the scene with the horse wasn't very believable. The other guy would have pulled that off much better and would have looked more smug afterwards too.

Other than that, loving everything else so far. The constant power struggles in Kings Landing and at the wall have me gripped the most.

Old Daario left for the Transporter remake/sequel/prequel thing which I think he chose terribly.

I agree the Daenery's storyline has been lacking lately but it'll be picking up steam soon. I hope.

That's gonna be some movie! A remake that's also simultaneously a prequel and sequel?

Regarding the whole Joffrey poisoning thing, did anyone else get reminded of the 'Who Shot Mr. Burns?' episode of The Simpsons? Everyone has motives and everyone hated the guy. You can't really rule out anyone.

I think it was the pie more than the drink. There was a held close-up of the pie with a dead bird in it; presumably it had a bit of a snack while waiting to be released and succumbed to the same fate as Joff. Olenna made sure he ate some of that before she did, she was very excited when it arrived, and her family paid for all the food. That's just my theory, but everyone seems to have strong motives.

I'm bored of Dany's storyline. I really couldn't care less what she does right now. When she stops wandering about in the desert being self-righteous I might like her again.

I think Joffrey killed the birds while he cut the pie with his sword. As the cup was bounced around so much and was empty I'd be inclined to think that it was one of the last people to handle it that
[Show spoiler]put the poison crystal in the cup after it came of Sansa's necklace (unless it stuck to the inside then dissolved in the drink)
.

Who Poisoned the Little Shit King Joffrey? Clue (Cluedo) Edition sounds like fun.

One thing I'm not liking about the Daenery's storyline is the fact that she is being surrounded by men who are acting like suitors than actually wanting to be there and support her reducing her into a prize for some poonhound to win.

Dany's biggest concern is freeing slaves, building an army, and reclaiming Westeros. Let's not reduce her to some vacuous struggle over which boyfriend she should choose like its a mideval Twilight.

The person was revealed in the very next episode.

As Margaery talks to Olenna about Joffreys death, it's revealed that Margaery poisoned Joffrey. How could anyone have missed that?
