As old and choppy as this looks, I still found it very watchable. There's some outstanding use of 3D and the film itself is a better Western than the ones we got on 3D Blu-ray. I would rebuy this without question if it got a restored release. It's made me want to see more 3D Westerns.

Got my copy yesterday,
To be quite honest, considering the poor and faded condition of the original elements, I was surprised how strong the 3D was. Variety Films did a fantastic job. Lots of depth and spatial separation. I was also fortunate to have an option on my Darbee 5000s for low resolution video which did improve the sharpness and color. The stereo cards and other extra features were fun to watch. Only disappointment is that the 1971 "I Monster" is not available on bluray. The 3D snippet (which included information on the pulfrich effect) looked great. A B-western, despite low quality video (and again, Variety Films did a great job making it watchable) the 3D definitely makes this a winner. |

With "I Monster", doesn't the 'pulfrich effect' mean that it's a 2d movie with a 3d effect, and the effect only works occasionally, when the camera is moving the right way ?
To get back to 'Outlaw Territory': The thing that made it feel like a 'B' movie for me, was that there was only one song, and just a little other music. The story however, was entertaining. The picture is soft, and sometimes seems a bit 'overexposed' and sometimes washed out. This is the best the film will look until it is properly restored. Some good 3D extras are included. Phil. |

I think that a lawsuit would have legs to walk if the rights owner was interested in release the movie in 3D. If not then he/she/it has no way to complain about other people to resell. For that the rights owner had to prove that he/she/it was taking steps for that release or was about to release it. Even though if a genuine product were released this edition would only prejudice Variety Films due to not expecting the original to be released and the investement already put in this project. Variety Films would have been only promoting a movie that no longer can sell and the rights owner would have profits without effort on promoting it.
I understand people fighting for rights they own, what I don't understand is greed over culture that is put to a corner getting dust. Just my 2 cents on this subject. ![]() |
