Can someone refresh my mind about the entire signature series that’s released so far? I skipped out on Beauty and the Beast and Lion King bc I already had the 3D Diamond Collection w lenticular slip for both.
If I remember correctly, BATB didn’t have any sort of exclusive lenticular slip and TLK had a very basic uninspiring steelbook? From there, I picked up Pinocchio lenticular, Bambi lenticular, and Lady and the Tramp SB. Also have Snow White lenticular from the launch of the sig series. Am I all caught up with the “exclusives” from this series so far (I have Peter Pan sb for ISPU)?! |

I'm so happy Peter Pan storybook blu ray is coming down in price. I'm trying to collect the storybooks, and Peter Pan was about $75 LOL. It's coming down in price thanks to this re-release.

Oh yea you right...although when Disney does release store exclusives I typically go for the lenticulars or steel, rather than the books. But nonetheless you are correct!

Anyone notice that when a Steel is heavily debosssed, such as this title... sometimes the front of the case makes a lite pop sound. Literally no damage at all, no dents, no plastic tears...sometimes the front is just loose and you can push it in and out??

Anyone else bothered by the Disney/Blu-ray and character spine logos not being consistent with the other signature steelbook releases. I guess, it's better than the Target digibook/digipack inconsistency.

I just opened my mailed copy of Peter Pan and it looked as if someone punched the entire package. the spine is bent, almost wavy. This experience may make me put all future steelbook purchases for in store pickup as well. Though my in store copy came with a couple of small dents underneath the J Card.

There is not a list of future, upcoming Disney steelbooks yet as no one is even sure what the next release for the Signature line is yet, which will probably be in the fall, which means we should know within the next couple months.
Both this and LatT steels were announced shortly after their official release dates were announced. The only recent Disney steel that came out of nowhere was The Incredibles which wasn't announced until about two months ago. Whatever the next title in the Signature line is it's more than likely that the trend of Best Buy getting a steelbook exclusive (no more lenticular slips) and Target getting digibook/digipack will continue. |

Last year was the first time in a long time (outside of VHS release dates) that we received more than two vaulted titles in a year. With no D23 Expo this summer, where The Lion King was the third announced title last year, who knows when Disney will announce a potential third 2018 release. The disc releases consistently brought vault titles in the winter and fall, but the Signature editions of Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King skated into summer, just barely initially. So, depending on which pattern you're guestimating/hoping for, we could see an announcement in as little as a month. Of course, if we know anything about these Disney releases, it's that Disney loves being inconsistent with them. Beauty and the beast came out in late September with a late June press release (3 month time window, averaging), and The Lion King came out in late August with a mid-July press release (1 1/2 month window). So basically, keep your eyes and ears open and try to avoid the rumor wheel for the sake of your own hopes and dreams. ![]() |

Yes, it's just a guessing game that everyone speculates on in the thread below. No real way of knowing what's left for this year.
I own the last blu release of Fantasia so I am not jonesing for a new release like everyone else is and am not such a hardcore purist that I need all original/unaltered version everyone always talks about. It does make sense though as everything else has either been released or seen a re-release since then. Someone in the thread said it would be great if Disney held off for a 4K release, which would be awesome. Whatever the case and whatever else is next I will buy if it's released as a steelbook ![]() https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...95921&page=237 |
