One of the best Steelbooks I've seen in a long time. I admit there's something a bit off about the front artwork, either it's too compressed or they've gone with some watercolor-type look. Either way, it still looks fine and the back/inside arts more than make up for any slight deficiencies on the front. Looks incredible overall.

Actually the official artwork that Disney released along with the press release has the UCE banner at the bottom.

I don't mind the UCE or the format banners on the 4K releases, the MA on both releases and the format banner on the normal BD is what's horrible.

G rating is just for promotional purposes. It looks like it WILL have the red band “Ultimate Collector’s Edition”...or at least that’s the version displayed on the Disney website.

The collector in me wants this badly, but I don't know if this will get watched often enough to make it worth my while. I haven't watched the BD on the shelf in some time now.

Is the Target exclusive an actual digibook this time or is it just a digipack with an included book?

Probably the latter, but until release day one can always dream.

To be fair The Little Mermaid in particular didn't have all that much tampering compared to their "restorations" of earlier films, though still had a decent amount of smearing as I recall.

It's too early to say, but typically Little Mermaid has had the least "revisionistic" restoration as it was the last animated film finished completely on film before CAPS and the color alterations haven't been as drastic as what is seen in the early films. There is still some grain seen in the previously restored HD versions as well.
