are there any recommended vendors here in the US? I would assume it may be more expensive? Just want to know because I remember there use to be alot around chinatown in NYC but cannot find those anymore and they were relatively the same price as the online asian stores. Would be nice to find a few in NYC if they still exist.

Do they usually send an email with tracking number?

I've only used them once or twice but yes. They can be slow to ship.

Funny that you mention Bad Panda Shop.

I actually placed an order with them earlier this year (January 5th), got my order confirmation, and then heard literally nothing else after that. No shipping updates, tracking numbers, etc. Nor have I seen the actual movie come in the mail.

After 2 months went by with no updates, I started reaching out to their customer support. I found 2 different support email addresses on their website, and I even messaged them on WhatsApp, just to inquire about the status of my order and to see if they were any updates.

Finally, just this morning, I got a notification from PayPal saying that they had refunded me. No message explaining why or anything. They just gave me my money back and that's it.

It's a bummer, because I was really looking forward to the blu-ray I ordered ("Port of Call" Director's Cut) but I may just have to order it from somewhere else I guess.

I am not sure what their deal is with lack of communication, and lack of product. I've heard that the COVID-19 situation is extremely bad in Hong Kong right now so maybe that is related. Either way, good luck, and if you don't hear any updates after a couple more months then I suggest you try reaching out to them.

Complete opposite of my experience with DDDHouse which was excellent, and they had great communication, and that was just a couple months ago.
I placed this order with BadPanda because they had all the movies I was looking for in one place, or I would have had to place multiple orders with separate vendors and I was trying to save on shipping.

I will have to wait and see, I guess. Thank you for relaying your experience.

UPDATE: So I did get a tracking number from BadPanda a couple of days ago, so it took about 3 weeks for them to ship. Just FYI.

It may be they are not shipping most items since HK Post has Airmail shipping suspended to many countries at the moment, FWIW. DDDHouse cannot ship to USA at the moment for example, but Johnny is at least responsive and informative, not to mention prompt.

Dddhouse does ship to USA right now, either EMS or Vantage Courier (your choice). I just placed an order a couple hours ago. But the shipping cost has really skyrocketed compared to last year, like $110 for 3 blurays total including shipping. I probably won’t purchase there anymore just because of the cost but they do have great service

Do the .hk and .com sites for DDDHouse have the same content, prices and such? The former seems like a much more modern sites, but my account doesn't work there.

The .com has a little more but at least new things it's also listed on .hk. I think prices are the same. Benefit of the .hk site is all orders automatically get 10% off at checkout.

I see above a question was answered about the DDDHouse .hk and .com sites, but now I see a third domain: .com.hk

Is there a reason to use the third one over the other two? I've seen it linked in a few threads.

I often order at Dddhouse.hk, mostly five movies at once and when they arrive, I often paying only 5 euros and this is the fee for the Austrian post. Ok, the last time I have paid additional €6,26 VAT. ( for five movies with a total amount of €103)

Not anymore. Not since the gst tax grab. No Amazon outside of the US ship here.
