I don't think you can harm your setup by having too much protection. Plus, with the APC H15 at $100 on Amazon, why wouldn't you go for the better power conditioner...it's cheaper! I'm definitely grabbing it on Friday.
I'm curious though, I have a CyberPower Battery-Backup System for my computer. Should I bother with connecting this to the APC H15, or have it separate? I enjoy having the battery back up so that I don't lose any work on my computer, but I'm also worried about the protection of my computer. I'm curious if I could use both to get the most protection. I, again, will report on not one issue at all with my APC H15 after 6 months. No noise, no equipment troubles, no hum, nothing. Everything works fine with it, and it works beautifully.
Heck, kicked in just last night after a big storm here; all equipment fine afterwards, as usual. |

Will something like this http://www.apc.com/resource/include/...V&tab=features will do the same thing?
Cause where I live there's not that much power spike, my parent just plug there old TV straight in the wall without any power bar, and even when there's storm they watch TV and they never had any problem |

I had thought about doing this earlier, but kind of think it would be too much of a PITA to do. The body would be easy, the face plate I would not want to mess with. I really don't mind the way it looks with my other components.

I talked to APC support and they recomend NOT using a UPS with the APC H15. It may overload the outlet on the power conditioner. Most computer power supplies can handle the minor power issues.
So if you want to use a UPS to save files and properly shutdown the computer in case of a power outtage, use the UPS separate of the APC H15. |

It won't do the same thing. It will only help with surge protection. The APC H15 offers better surge protection, noise filtering, and voltage regulation. I would think the must have feature would be surge protection and voltage regulation. If you say that where you live there are no power spikes then voltage regulation isn't as necesary, but it doesn't hurt to have it.
I would take advantage of the current sale for the H15 unit. You just can't beat that $99 price tag. |

Just bought a black APC H15 off of ebay today for about $230, since APC still honors their warranty with it. I know I could have got the silver H15 for more than half the price, but I think the extra $130 is worth liking the color of the unit, and not throwing off the looks of all my other black equipment in my entertainment center.
Can't wait to hook the beast up ![]() |
