So whats with all the grain, it was like grain overload. Is that on purpose?

I love the film, own the DVD. I wanted to buy the Blu-ray, but have read many off putting reviews concerning the picture quality.

Anything with Billy-Bob-Thorton doing narration is purchase worthy to me!

I thought it was a good character study..... but, to each their own!

If anything, Steve Buscemi was the star of this film. And don't get me wrong, the other performances, including McDormand were not bad by any means, I just don't understand this overwhelmingly positive praise the movie gets -- as being one of the best of all-time and giving an award to McDormand.

Here's Roger Ebert's take. If he can't explain it, maybe no one can. You just need to get the movie and everything else will fall into place.
