I'm a huge King fan. It was my first novel. I read it at the age of 10 in about 3 days. I've revisited the novel every couple of years but it's been at least a decade since I've read it.
Beverly had sex with all of them to bring them together and bond their love. Ironically, afterwards, their mysterious connection started to fade away. I've noticed many in here talking about it. Thought I'd post what I got out og the novel. I think they should include Patrick Hockstetter to an extent, just leave out what he does to Henry before he dies. I think King was hinting that Patrick had the potential to become a future serial killer. Patrick murdered his infant brother and was killing neighborhood pets. Right now I'm trying to read 11/22/63. It's ok so far. I have Doctor Sleep too and I started a chapter but then I went and started 11/22/63. |

I've re-read his early stuff ('Salem's Lot is a book I've always found to be immensely readable) a few times but nothing after The Stand apart from his short stories. That said, when I consider that I read IT when I was a teenager, maybe I'll get something different out of it now I'm so much older. First, though, Duma Key needs to be finished and 11/22/63. |

The novel is SO different from the mini series. Yet, I love the mini series. Still very creepy and imo perfectly cast (not just Tim Curry as Pennywise)! But if we do get a theatrical remake, please keep more stuff from the book. Like the Ritual of Chüd for example.

I'm with you. They should release the uncut version though. The DVD cuts out the scene with Bill at the hotel reception because of the opening credits (part 2). Now, that I've read IT, I am gonna read The Stand now.

I would not call this new movie a "remake" of the 1990 movie, to me the definition of a remake is when it's based on a motion picture produced earlier and an original screenplay not based on any existing source material like say The Blob or The Hills Have Eyes or Maniac, TRUE remakes in every sense of the word. A re-adaptation means a separate adaptation of a book, comic or novella that was filmed before on film and it's another adaptation yet has nothing to do with the film that came before it like say The Thing, Carrie, I Am Legend films, War of the Worlds, Batman Begins etc.
To call this new version of IT a "remake" of 1990's movie is like saying every Dracula movie is a "remake" of 1931's film and 1922's Nosferatu, nope they are all separate adaptations that have nothing to do with each other. This should be a good separate adaptation and it should be 2 parts ala Harry Potter 7 and can be a big screen mini-series compared to the enjoyable if PG-13 mini-series on TV. Jackie Earl Haley should be Pennywise |

I don't think that something like this would work in a theater. It just lends itself to a miniseries format so much better. I mean, I find myself enjoying some TV Shows and miniseries more than feature films anymore. TVs' becoming where its at, unless you need larger-than-life explosions and such.
