It's been son long since I saw S2 (watched them as they aired on Showtime) that I barely remember it, other than the final episode that was supposed to be too intense for them to originally air, or something like that. I'd really like to see them again. I have all the S1 blu-rays and I'd buy S2 as a set if done decent. Wish they were available to stream somewhere just so I could revisit them.

So now I see that Vudu has S2 available to own for $6.99, BUT... its on standard-def only and may not even be complete. It also only lists 7 episodes - #1, 3, 8, 10-13.

Why would it be incomplete and in SD only?

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but this one seemed to be the most active one...
I've recently started to watch this show and I like it so far, so I decided to purchase 4-disc German Splendid releases. I'm aware of 25 FPS thing and I don't mind it, however, I know Cigarette Burns, Imprint, Pro-Life, Pelts and Haeckel's Tale are cut so I'm thinking of purchasing standalone releases for these 5 titles. In case I won't be able to track down German "Black Editions", does anyone know if Spanish (BD-R) releases are also uncut?

Unfortunately, I don't have any Spanish releases for cut episodes. But I did go back a few pages to review the information I posted on Pelts since it's cut. So the time on the Splendid 25fps release is 53 minutes and 13 seconds. Assuming the Spanish release is 25fps like the other ones I have, the time should match up if it's cut. But the time on Pelts' page here on this site says 55 minutes, and so does the Amazon.es page for that release. So perhaps the difference is because Splendid is cut and the Spanish release isn't. But I suppose it could also be due to an extra studio logo, so I don't know if you want to risk it.

I thought so...
I think you're right and I won't take risks - besides, I already found some "Black Editions" for decent prices
Thank you so much for your insight, it was very helpful

I do own both. I've just checked Pelts, German and Spanish editions.
The Spanish is 55:59 (from the intro to the end of the credits); the German is 53:13 (including a few seconds of the Splendid logo at the beginning).

I also seem to remember the Spanish BD-R is 25FPS too. Right now I cannot access my pc; I'll check it out later and write about it.

Anyway, if that is the case, then indeed those Spanish BD-R are uncut, and suddenly became of more interest to me, so, thank you for pointing out the issue again (if I confirm the 25fps, I'm gonna rip them to HD, to make sure they do not get faulty on me with time)

I've checked Pro-Life:
- Spanish 54:45
- German 53:49

Now, there's one thing that puzzles me: the other episodes (Cigarette Burns, Imprint and Haeckel's Tale), that appear to be cut on the German BD, are all from Season 1. I don't recall the US release being cut, so wouldn't it be better to get the US discs? They're subtitled too.

They're also 1080i. That's why I got the Black Edition for Cigarette Burns.

Yes, the US release is uncut but pretty barebones (except for commentaries, I think)...

Yeah, I know that. But, as long as all of the content is there, I'm not willing to pay the kind of money needed for the black editions just for the 1080p. Besides, if I'm not mistaken, it's not like all of the episodes have got a black edition, only a few of them, so it wouldn't make much of a difference.

I've got the DVD sets for the extras
Subtitles are much more important to me.

I am also trying to keep the complete series on Blu, and although the 1080i thing irks me a can live with it. but I do have a few questions

1. How many Black Edition releases were made? I know of Pro-Life, Cigarette Burns, Pelts, and Imprint.

2. Is it possible to get the full version of Dream Cruise on Bluray? I am looking at the R2 Crucero De Ensueño release but am not sure if it is full length or not.

You can find the full version of Dream Cruise on the German release - the Spanish one is TV (shortened) version (87 min runtime on the back cover is incorrect).

Those are the only ones I know about too.

I picked up the DVD for the full version, but I just now checked Schnittberichte and found this:

https://www.schnittberichte.com/svds...sung&ID=122407

The runtime is 86 minutes, so it looks like it's the full version, but I'm guessing you won't get English subs for the Japanese. I wondered if that was the case for the Spanish release as well, so I looked it up on Amazon. The back cover says Spanish subs, but it gives a runtime of 87 minutes, so it appears to be the full version as well. If you speak Spanish or German, these might work for you. I took both in school, but don't speak either well enough to be happy without English subs.

EDIT: Sorry, missed seamus11's post.

Nice to have the site back ,

Just an update though, but I see that Haeckel's Tale also had a Black Edition release.
