I don't know how Spider-Man got his powers in this iteration and yes if he's a teenager, that will be a starting point, even if he's been fighting crime for awhile. It will take quite a bit for me to come around on a second reboot in 10 years, especially since I currently consider Garfield to be the quintessential film Spider-Man.

You will know though. Peter Parker went to a science lab where there was some sort of enhanced spider (radioactive or genetically engineered isn't really important), that spider bit Peter, he was responsible in some way for not preventing the death of his uncle and took on the mantle of Great Power/Great Responsibility.

That's really all you need to know. The details are kind of irrelevant beyond that.

Bleh, it all seems a bit far fetched to me, maybe if they explain/show it in detail in the 2017 film.

Just a man in his mid 30s who's loved Spider-Man since his childhood and quite tired of all these reboots.

As a movie fan I much prefer the organic webs. It makes him seem more like a super-powered individual and honestly him inventing that stuff overnight in the Amazing movie was pretty eye-rolling for me personally.

Now, if the writer of the movie finds an organic way to use mechanical shooters to forward the plot, then great. But one way or the other doesn't bother me as long as they're able to make a good movie. The last few movies, webshooters have been the least of the movies' problems.
Well, lets say they go with organic webs in the new movie, and the movie is great, I'm not gonna boycott it cause they used organic webshooters and I personally wanted mechanical webshooters. My first concern is that the movie is a great movie, if they do that, then I won't care much that they used organic webs... on the other hand, if the movie is junk, then organic webshooters will just be added to the list of things that the movie did wrong lol

Spider-Man Is Not in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, Says Kevin Feige

Quote:
With the papers signed and an impossible deal reached, we will be seeing Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner rather than later. Per the terms of the deal, Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige are producing a standalone Spider-Man film for release in 2017, but the character is officially poised to make his debut first in another MCU movie. Reports have been pretty certain that Spidey will make an appearance in next May’s Captain America: Civil War, but there’s been some chatter recently that the new webslinger might be popping up earlier than that. Much earlier.

Rumors have swirled that Marvel may be adding a tag to the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron featuring Spider-Man, giving audiences their first taste of the Marvel Studios-steered iteration of the superhero. Steve recently spoke with Marvel President Kevin Feige at the sequel’s press day and posed the question directly: Will Spider-Man appear in a post-credits tag on Age of Ultron?

[From the video]
Interviewer: I heard you guys might have filmed a Spider-Man thing that was gonna go after the credits.
Feige: [Shakes his head no] No.
Interviewer: Totally not true.
Feige: No.

So there you have it. According to Feige, the chatter is simply conjecture. Of course the final post-credits stinger for The Avengers was shot less than a month before that film’s release so things could change, but according to Feige, don’t expect to see the new Spidey next month.
You can watch the fifteen second video in the link:

Just for the hell of it I'll throw out there once again that having the origin, even during the credits is a f***ing stupid and unnecessary idea and don't have a clue why some fans want it back. I guess some people need to be reminded yet again how he got his powers.
It'll definitely come up somewhere, but I don't think they even need to go so far as to do an abbreviated version of it like Incredible Hulk. There will be a scene in the film where he mentions his Uncle Ben, or briefly flashbacks to it when he's relating his creed of "Great power comes great responsibility."

I think it's important to establish it since they're using a different character from the other movies, but not in a way that you have to actually sit and watch those events again. They definitely aren't going to have his Uncle Ben dying in the film, or seeing Peter get bit by the spider and discovering his powers or anything like that.

Ditto. Of course the practical web shooters and the web fluid came from the comics, that was when Peter was still this buttoned-up supernerd in a lab coat inventing this stuff, you just went with it. But nowadays the filmmakers were overly concerned with presenting Peter as a nerd first, boy genius second (or third, or fourth, or fifth...) so the organic shooters were a great idea within that framework. Thank you, James Cameron.

They went further with the reboot by having him be more of a tech geek - he's got a remote that locks his bedroom door! - but he's still some way short of genius status - he needs a youtube video to tell him how batteries work! - which kinda undermines how he created these incredible little pieces of machinery. And how did he get the fluid from Oscorp anyway? Mail order? If he was stealing it, you'd think they'd spot a gap in their inventory, see this guy swinging around spurting sticky goo from his wrists and put two and two together.

So unless they fully commit to the boy genius angle (almost like a mini-Stark) I don't think the practical shooters will ever work for me in da movies. The organic ones fit in a very, ah, organic way for the sort of nerd-chic Peter they want to portray (and which I think Marvel will continue to portray, albeit younger than we've seen thus far in the Sony movies).

Organic webshooters only if they're physiologically accurate and the spinnerets are on his ass.

Kevin Feige Reveals How Long SPIDER-MAN Will Be Part Of The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Quote:
Fans have been worrying about Sony potentially pulling Spider-Man out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on a whim, but Kevin Feige talks here about how far into the future the deal is set, and the good news is that it looks like Peter Parker will spend a long time as a member of The Avengers...

As great as it is that Spider-Man is going to become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's hard not to worry about Sony potentially changing their mind at any second, and f***ing everything up by ending their deal with Marvel. Thankfully, the two studios have more than just a handshake agreement, as Kevin Feige has now revealed that things are set in stone until at least 2019. What happens after that is unclear as we have no idea about "Phase 4" right now, but at least we're going to get a good four years of Spider-Man in The Avengers! Here's what Feige told Badass Digest in a recent interview when asked just how rock solid Marvel's Spidey plans are moving forwards:

For as forward thinking as we always try to be, there’s only so far you can tend to think, and our plan is fairly solid for those four or five years. I’ve never considered it in the Rom Spaceknight vernacular, necessarily. So much of the anxiety at Marvel has been ‘Who do we have contracts with, who is still involved’? You want to plot out all these years of imagination based on amazing comics, but you need real people to make time in their lives to do, and to make career decisions to do it. That has been the hardest thing to manage… but for the first time, that’s all settled. It’s all settled through [2019]. It’s all set. And we’re able to focus now just on [telling stories]. It’s everything we announced last October, and we’ve added your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man to the mix… and it’s all set.

Also in a new interview (via IGN) with Feige, he talked more about Marvel's take on Spider-Man and compared the reboot to Batman Begins.

I assume Feige comparing their Spider-Man to Batman Begins isn't saying their Spidey will be "dark and gritty," but I think in the sense that it will do a character study and really explore the character - who he is, why he is, how and why he does what he does.

Not only does the Batman Begins style not fit with Marvel's usual style, but that style doesn't work with Spider-Man. Feige and co know their characters better than anyone, and being a teenage hero, their Spider-Man will undoubtedly be more in line with the tone of Iron Man, The Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Light and fun but being serious when required.

The IGN video is titled "no origin, lots of humor," which is to be expected and a great way to go.

I just hope they (Sony) stay out of Marvel's way and let them actually make the movie the way it needs to be made. I don't believe they'll ever fully give Spider-Man back, he's to big of a character for them to lose.

I'm glad Marvel is looking at the Infinity War thing as a kind of ending. Even if they go past that, which I am sure they will, it will be nice to have a contained 20 movie series or however long it is, with a real ending you can stop on. That's good for narrative, good for protection in case the fad ends and good for building up anticipation and drama.

Just counted, and it'd be 22 movies, all in the span of 11 years. So crazy haha. I fully agree with you about wanting an ending, though Inhumans seems like it'd be a weird note to end on unfortunately

I see Inhumans as both the end of one phase and the beginning of another. A transition movie, if you will. At the end of it, I imagine it will be like stating, "It's a whole new world in the Marvel Universe."

Agree with you there. At some point people aren't going to be excited about the super heroes and want something different. Would be a good note to end it.

It'd be weird to hold off for so long on Daredevil since his show just premiered over the weekend. I'm hoping he pops up in Civil War at least and maybe some other phase 3 stuff, if it makes sense for him to be there
