I ordered Magdalena earlier today and about half an hour after the email with my order confirmation showed up I received an email telling me to complete my order. Not sure what that was about, but hopefully everything is fine because I've checked this thread pretty much daily waiting for this one to go up for sale.

Ordered the 3 movie bundle with Magdalena, Journey Into Fear and Terror Express. I had an old dvd of Magdalena but wasn't very good quality and no sex. Story is solid enough though. Terror Express looks like a prime piece of Italian sleaze so I'm definitely game. Since I am also a Vincent Price completist, I had to also get Journey Into Fear.

I don't know why I gravitate towards exorcist rip-offs, yet here I am.

Which is better Malabimba or Magdalena? They seem similar on paper.

Magdalena takes place at a girl's boarding school whereas Malabimba takes place at a family chateau which gives it more of a Gothic feel. They are both fun.

True, but the discussion wasn't whether or not porn can be enjoyable but whether it can rise to level of "cinema."

I have no such qualms about X-rated films, so I preordered Magdalena and am looking forward to it!

I have to have Magdalena, even with only an English track, so I took a big chance and did the "Brutal 2-pac" to get both slightly cheaper. I have no idea if I will like the Leo Fong movie...

Dark Force is doing well. They're doing pre-orders and everything. I pre-ordered Magdalena along with Brute Corps and Teenage Hitchhikers to fill in gaps in my collection. 70s sleaze coming my way!

Correct, the example I gave while some would struggle to consider watching truly does rise to the level of cinema. The filmmaker crafted it this way on purpose to try to reduce the stigma of homosexuality by creating a piece of cinema that heterosexual people on the art circuit would want to see just for the cinema aspect of it. And it was largely successful in it's time for this reason.

Also, with people in this forum watching stuff like a serbian film and other gruesome violent films, watching something that is the opposite of your preference really should not be too much of a lift, again if just to see a great piece of art.

This is the most exciting home video release for this year--at least for me!

i can't wait to preorder this.

CYCLE VIXENS was the title of the heavily-censored TV print.

No spoilers, but I believe that Tarantino's DEATH PROOF owes a large debt to this film.

Sadly, I think that all three of the female leads are now deceased.

I've only seen the VHS version known as "Cycle Vixens" which is a horribly edited re-cut version, which also lays in different music and stuff. It will be nice to finally see the original uncut intact version of the film.

Yes, most of the sex, violence, and even swearing was deleted from the CYCLE VIXENS cut. I wasn't aware of changes to the music, but that makes sense.

Next week according to a status update on Facebook yesterday:

DARK FORCE BREAKING NEWS: MAGDALENA is now projected to come out of replication by the end of the week. Shipping on all pre-orders and club member shipments expected to begin on Monday March 15.
