Excellent news. And speaking of exploitation biker flicks, I watched an old Code Red DVD last night that had a trailer for Black Angels (aka Black Bikers From Hell) on it. Looked pretty fun. Will Dark Force be putting that one out on Blu-ray?

Imdb really sucks with their synopsis spoilers. I once complained that the main keywords for the film that showed when you went to the movie's page often did that too.

A non Dark Force title they spoiled was the Lady Kills.

I have Young Cycle Girls but haven't watched it in ages. I remember the basic premise, but I can likely still enjoy watching it.

Apparently they can't even find better elements for FE besides what they used for the old DVDs. And those DVDs looked bad. DF is definitely the type of label to put out some garbage looking BD though. I'm cool with the Drive In releases but those FE DVDs had no damn detail at all.

The After Hours DVD is made from the only known 16mm theatrical print (last I heard) and looks pretty good, in my opinion. I'd buy it again if After Hours put out an HD scan of the same print on BD.

So that print wasn't from an HD scan? If it looks like other DF Drive In releases I'd buy it. If it looks like some upscaled stuff I'd stay away though.

I don't know what the scanning resolution was. The back cover just says "Brand new digital scan from the only existing film elements."

If I recall, the FE print was literally found on ebay and someone bid to buy it, and then released it.

Water Power had a nice picture quality release along with Femmes de Sade from Alpha France some 10 years back. Sadly, it was cut.

Hey $uicide, General Tom here for Dark Force. If you haven't noticed, the quality of the Dark Force releases these days has been on point. New releases like Journey Into Fear, Revenge of the Bushido Blade, Magdalena Possessed By The Devil and Terror Express were all created from original camera negatives. Even the drive-in releases which are often decent 35mm prints have been ramped up. The upcoming #11 features Secrets of Sweet Sixteen from a beautiful original 35mm camera negative. Rest assured that future releases will continue on this path of excellent quality. Company policy at this time is we will not release anything that is upscaled and the lowest film element we would require for a release would be a good 35mm print. So you can rest assured that anything with the Dark Force logo will be of excellent HD quality.

According to the blurb last week, the upcoming YOUNG CYCLE GIRLS (1978) will also be from the 35mm camera negative.

I'm really looking forward to both SECRETS OF SWEET SIXTEEN and YOUNG CYCLE GIRLS.

Too bad you couldn't get the original German audio for Magdalena.

The clip of MAGDALENA that Demon Dave showed on the livestream looked great (massive upgrade from the crappy versions I've had in the past)!!

Also first time I have seen General Tom on a livestream.
