I'm with you. I don't get how they are that high. CBS bowl predictions have Oregon and Clemson in the Orange Bowl. That would be a fun game. I'd rather see them instead of Baylor.

Some projections have the Orange Bowl UCF vs. Clemson, which I think would be good.

Yes. I do think Baylor will pass Stanford if both win out. OSU has a pretty lousy regular season schedule left, but they'll probably play Michigan St. for the conf title, which would help their SOS. Hard to say whether Baylor or OSU finishes higher if both win out.

I want to see us win out and win our BCS Bowl Game. That would be a huge boost to the school and get us some national media love for next season as we probably have Bortles coming back and we don't even have to face Louisville next year.

If Nebraska beats MSU then they would play for the title. I don't see it happening but that would really hurt OSU. I think UCF would be a tough game. They have a NFL QB and CU's secondary is suspect at best. No offense but I'd rather see Oregon just because the program is higher profile. I think CU would be in a lose lose game with UCF based on perception even though they are a good team.

Is it a sure thing that Will Muschamp isn't going to get fired by Florida after the season? His team is 4-5 right now and they're going to have to beat South Carolina or Florida State (in addition to Georgia Southern) just to make a bowl. If they go 5-7 that will make Muschamp's record 23-15 in his 3 seasons. Ron Zook was fired after 3 seasons with a 23-14 record and at least 7 wins each year, and they finished ranked ever year (last year was Muchamp's only season finishing ranked). I know Muschamp took Florida to a BCS game last year and that they've been absolutely killed by injuries this year, but Florida does not have a patient fan base. I don't think he'll get fired after this season but he'll be on a very hot seat next year.

Here is Michigan's school President delivering a speech during halftime of the game this weekend. It seems pretty clear she's wasted. I listened to a clip of a commencement she gave before and she normally sounds nothing like this. I don't think it's nerves either considering she's been President for over a decade.

Michigan Offense Drives Man To Drink, Drive Drunk

Around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 3, hours after Michigan's embarrassing loss to Michigan State, Dearborn police responded to a call about a man asleep in his car at a gas station. He had been unconscious for 90 minutes. He had urinated on himself. He was arrested, and told officers he had really had no choice but to drink to oblivion.

While he was being booked, he said he drank so much because he was upset that the University of Michigan's football team lost 29-6 at Michigan State University the day before. He said he also was upset with the play-calling of Offensive Coordinator Al Borges, whose Wolverines rushed for a negative-48 yards, the worst ground performance since the school started playing football in 1879.

The man blew a 0.24 BAC, allowing him to be charged under Michigan's "super drunk" law. Michigan would rack up minus 21 yards against Nebraska the next week, at which point he presumably went straight for the rubbing alcohol.

Why on earth would they do that? Virginia Tach was historically a so-so football program. They've finished in the top-25 almost every year he's been there and made 8 BCS games. I'm sorry, but they aren't going to find anyone better than Beamer. Virginia Tech isn't Texas or USC.

Bobby Bowden thought the same thing. Where is he coaching now? FSU was built by him just like Beamer and VT. No one is above the axe falling when you're not winning.

I didn't realize 3 losses and in the driver seat for the division was comparable to .500 seasons or considered "not winning".

If you think this is what VT had in mind this season and the past few then you are wrong. The only reason they are in the mix for the division is because it sucks. I'm sure a 4 or 5 loss season will not make many happy in Blacksburg. That is the definition of not winning when your school is used to winning the conference year after year.

Difference is everyone knew FSU would continue being a top-10 program recruiting every year regardless of who coaches there. That program is always going to be highly ranked. The same cannot be said for Virginia Tech. You just aren't going to have the same success in landing top-tier recruits as VT as you will as FSU due to location. Virginia Tech can probably land a decent head coach if they got rid of Beamer, but not a top-tier coach who could really improve the program.
