There were no copies when I went to Target awhile ago. There were only 2 copies at Best Buy, and I got one! Watching bonuses right now.

Has anybody checked out the Virtual Vault yet on the Fantasia 2000 disc? I watched a few features, but they all play in a smaller window on the screen and I can't find a way to make them full screen. I was just wondering if anybody has found a way to do this yet.

It's buried deep within the complicated Hyperion Studios feature on disc 2 (it's not listed on the package; I had to use the blu-ray.com review of Snow White to find it), but yes, it is there--and in HD.

Guess I was wrong lol still exciting though. Is 'Working for Peanuts' in 3D? If not I would pick up that disc just for that. I have Snow White but haven't looked at the features so I'm definitely going to go check this out right now thanks!

Edit - I guess there are a few shorts available on Blu through a couple other Disney movies such as BATB and Pinocchio. Here is a list I found on another site, I'm gonna have to check these out tonight if this list is correct. Back on the topic of the Fantasia release though, what did everyone think of the Destino short?

Both Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 discs share the same menu screen. Based on the ethereal "floating sails" concept from F2k, on the Fantasia disc, music from Beethoven's 6th plays as the floating sails circle a recessed stage formed of descending concentric circles.

I realize they're trying to "unite" F40 and F2K as a Single Entity (hence the packaging), as a way of keeping F2K exposed, but, well...
I still remember from the early DVD days of '01 the awe of actually holding a holy-grail classic in your hand , when you put it on and saw the iconic Stokowski silhouette--
The '01 F2K menu had the same screens-in-space, but only the 40's movie could have, in the immortal words of Bugs Bunny, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LC38rBYK7c

(Still, if it finally gets F2K a little equal respect, I can live with it.)

Just curious: does the blu-ray make any mention of the deleted shots in the Pastoral Symphony segment? The Fantasia Anthology DVD from 2000 did mention it with this terse still frame on the Legacy disc. I'm just curious how Disney is handling this on this blu-ray. Are they explaining it in more detail? Or not explaining it at all? Is the explanation more prominently placed instead of buried deep in the extras?

I haven't been able to login to the Disney Movie Rewards site today either.

BTW... has anyone noticed in the Noah's Ark segment of Fantasia 2000 that Mickey and Minnie make a cameo appearance on top of the ark? I caught it when the movie first came out on the IMAX screen. I could never see them on the DVD version but I can on the Blu-ray.

Got my copy. Target was sold out so I begrudgingly went next door to Walmart to pay a few bucks more. Feh. Oh well, I got it. That's what mattered, I've been going crazy wanting Ginger my hands on this for months and the excitement has got me into classic Disney films in a big way.

Got the last copy from my Target earlier. The top of the slip was a little damaged from the security case, too. Oh well, the release itself is FANTASTIC.

Just got back from target. They had zero copies of the blu ray on the sales floor, but I asked an employee and they had 3 copies in the back. So I got one. Now I can't wait to watch it, haven't seen it in years.

Can you guys help me out? I've been waiting months to pick this up, and now I have it... except the Fantasia Blu-Ray doesn't work! I've tried it multiple times- it boots up and plays the previews normally, but once it comes time to load the menu... nothing happens. I've waited for up to 10 minutes straight with absolutely nothing popping up or loading or anything. I exchanged it just now, but the same thing has happened! Does this mean I need a firmware update, or are there defect copies out there?
The really strange thing though is that the Fantasia 2000 disc loads up and plays absolutely fine. What's up with this?

Yo can exchange your blu ray even if its open.

Besides, you can just go on with playing DVD instead.

I played it in on a Sony player that I got about two years ago and it works fine. I am surprised it doesn't play on the 570 since that is new.

Are you by any chance connected to the internet over your player? I think I read recently that some disc had a hang-up problem but when they disconnected the internet connection it worked fine.

Yeah, I've have a Sony 350 for almost 2 years now. I've never gotten it connected to the internet, but until now nothing like this has popped up.

I'm having a similar problem - fantasia works fine but fantasia 2000 just plays a black screen/no audio. I can see the time numbers moving on the player itself but there is nothing on screen. I'm on an older LG BH200 but I have never had any problems with any movies before.

I am also in Canada so I'm wondering if there's a bad batch up here.

Also, the DVD disc was broken - a straight crack from the centre to the edge of the disc.
