In my explanations, I started to point out that Captain America looked better than most earlier conversions. I have noticed that some of the first ones are no where no near what they can produce now.

agree here and with what was said by most every1 else, but personally i rate the 3d in capt america as better than john carter, and i would rate wrath as the best conversion yet. dont think ill watch thor or glantern much in 3d again (as already said: the 3d effect wasnt that strong). bring on avengers!

Personally I loved Thor's 3D! Much better than people give it credit for imo. The snow world stuff looks fantastic in 3d.

While cap's is good, I felt like it looked less polished than Thor's. The errors felt more obvious in that one to me, even if they are largely negligible. There's still a lot of goodie to the 3d however

Green lantern was pretty disappointing in 3d. Some really strong 3d shots, but the 3d felt a lot weaker than I remember it being in the theater.

John Carter is one of the very best conversions I've ever seen, almost nothing feels flat and the errors are very very minimal and only noticeable if you're looking. A must own for 3d IMO!

Well they say the 3D was pretty good on those, and I already like the movies...so I figured what the heck.

I own all 4 and I like all 4. GL isn't great but it's 19.99 at Best Buy so it's worth a pick up. Thor is a good movie, the 3D isn't amazing but it's good enough that if you catch a deal, grab it.

I see you like superhero movies. In that case, add AVENGERS 3D to your must have list. Out of all of the ones you've listed, I wouldn't feel bad if I dropped Green Lantern even though it was a good movie, but the 3D by Prime Focus was as minimal as you can get in most scenes. Disappointing for 3D.

The other ones I enjoy a lot for movies, and even 3D (Especially the 3D in John Carter, which seems mostly like hybrid conversion (mostly rendered CGI 3D with converted 2D to 3D humans/scenery)). Even Thor's 3D, which I don't think looks as bad as others might suggest. It has pretty decent 3D layers.

That is the exact order I would put them in.

I've started buying from a seller on ebay just the 3D movies he splits sets up and sells them individually.

you get the original 3D disc, the cover and the 3d slipcover.

It may be worth getting it that way so you get to keep your 2D version, he sells them a lot cheaper than getting the 4 or 5 disc set, about 10 to 15 dollars each.

Alright Pelham123. I'll take that into consideration. Can you PM me the User's screen name?

And zivouhr, I'll definitely pick up Avengers in 3D.

Have not seen Avengers but the others are top-notch in my opinion.

I dont understand the hate for Green Lantern, I really enjoy this one.

Where/when do places have sales on 3D Blu Rays? I know BB sometimes does. I personally think $30-35 is too steep. Can we maybe get a thread going where people post deals? Is there a site that does this?

I'm in the process of upgrading to 3d capable gear. What do you recommend for the first three 3D movies?

You can't go wrong with Disney. If you're willing to spend, people really like Avatar and Sammy.

Search this 3d forum for "best of" threads, and you'll find plenty of good suggestions.
