UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif — March 19, 2014 — NBC has announced it is renewing dramas “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.” and “Grimm” for the 2014-15 season. The network previously picked up “The Blacklist” (season 2) “Parks and Recreation” (season 7), “The Voice” (season 7), “Celebrity Apprentice” (season 14) and “The Biggest Loser” (season 16). NBC is winning the season in adults 18-49, and ranked #1 for the first time in 10 years this late in the season. The network is up 20% versus one year ago, with its highest rating 25 weeks into the season in six years.

Very happy for Chicago PD and Chicago Fire. Both are very underrated shows. I wish more people would watch them on boards like this.

I get that there isn't always something to talk about, but the shows are more serialized than procedural.

I sure hope Hannibal doesn't get cancelled. It doesn't help that they gave it the friday night death slot.

Even with the low ratings, I'm sure Hannibal will get another season.

Fire and PD are far from underrated they are killing the 10pm timeslot and the way they interweave the shows it really does feel just like a continuation on Wednesdays at times.

I hope so. Even though they are going in their own direction a little bit, the show is a visual masterpiece! Not to mention, the great writing, and acting.
Personally I hope NBC drops it and someone like AMC, even Netflix picks it up.
Screw the damn "networks", and their 50yr old method of programming!

If NBC renews Hannibal it will just be because the show is cheap. NBC pays a license fee for the show and the fee is very low compared to what they normally pay for a show. It's very possible that even if NBC doesn't renew the show that it will keep being produced because the show does very well internationally so the production company would likely keep it going. Amazon and an unnamed cable network were both reportedly interested in picking up the second season of Hannibal if NBC passed so I would expect the show to get a third season, even if it isn't on NBC.

It does help. If NBC put it anywhere else, it would die a quick death. At least it has a fair chance at renewal if it stays at Friday 10pm.

Kind of odd that they say Parks & Rec, Celebrity Apprentice, and The Biggest Loser had previously been picked up because that's not the case. The Parks & Rec renewal hadn't been official and there had been no word on the other 2 shows. NBC has confirmed that all The Biggest Loser has not been renewed but the other renewals are correct.

The Parks was "unofficial" because of the guy (Forgot who) mentioned it a few weeks ago, but that was actually official. NBC included it on the press release and the official Facebook account for the show confirmed this morning with a new picture it was renewed as well. All shows listed are officially renewed.

When I said underrated, I didn't mean the quality of the shows. I just think most aren't giving it a shot because they don't want to devote time to another cop show.

One of my favorite shows. I wish it would go on longer. With this and Leverage gone how will I get my fix on stealth stealing.

I am beginning to wonder what reason I have to watch SyFy and USA anymore.

USA makes no sense on this one. Why they want to end one of their biggest series with such a short season is strange to say the least. You think they'd want as many episodes as possible of one of their highest rated shows, especially with Burn Notice already being done and gone. but I guess they won over Fox.

This show has run its course. They've been running out of ideas. I was a huge fan of it but last season was a drag and I just lost interest. I say end it on a high note.

With six episodes yet to air this season, Vikings has already been renewed for season 3. History announced that they've ordered ten episodes, matching the current season's episode count.
I'm glad Travis Fimmel is on a regular show. I loved him on The Beast.
