As far as generations go I don't agree. I'm sorry but as much fun as NES games were as a kid that generation of mostly very short in playtime and story doesn't matchup with today's games.
there is conkers BFD directors commentary, where the team while being drinking, talk about the development of the game while doing a lets plays. referencing that censored and dumped down the difficulty for the xbox version, and how they pulled out some effects with the n64 hardware and the benefits of the speed of n64 carts had to that.
there was much little bits of attention to detail put into their titles that most people would never notice.

funny how graphics and raw power nolonger matter, when you do not have the most powerful system

they were more aggressive with the marketing back them too, remember these

Oh I remember the "bit wars" well. Number of bits, even though almost nobody understood what it meant, was everything. I think the Atari Jaguar did a good job in killing off the bit wars. Anyone could tell the supposedly 64 bit Jaguar was garbage compared to the N64.

Downloading.

Edit

Very photo realistic backgrounds. Gameplay (So Far) hasn't been any prob on the gamepad. I don't see how you could play this on a Pro Controller. No big deal there really. Interesting & Unique story.. (though I never played any other) with only a minor complaint being them characters actually having jibber ish Language you have to listen to.

If it's on anything more complicated than a Smartphone, no I will not.

I won't even pick up a game that has bad graphics. My backlog of games that I have not played is already such that I'll never get to them all, why do I want to play a glorified NES game these days?

it is an enjoyable game, the minigames are kinda more like Nintendo land than the other wario ware games.

I paid 27 euro for mine, I think it be better suited to 29.99 and below price point rather than 39.99

Ok thanks.

I remember liking the Wario Ware mini-games but I couldn't get into those Nintendo Land ones. Price being a second factor.. So pass.

Rumor: The factory that develops WiiU eDRAM may be shutting down due to cut-backs from the company that owns it.

Hmm, I didn't know this sort of thing was still manufactured in Japan. I assumed this sort of manufacturing was done in China nowadays at a much lower production price.

I don't know...same reason you are invested in a glorified NES thread? Deep down you know you are missing out on good, fun games and angry about it?

Considering I have a WiiU I don't know where you think you are going with this.

I never said the WiiU was incapable of graphics good enough for me to be impressed. I'll be there for cartoony exclusives, especially Mario. But when it comes to "realistic games", I won't buy any of those for this system. That's what the PS4 I have pre-ordered will be for.

I said I hate the "Gameplay > Graphics" argument. And I do.

If Gameplay was important as people seem to believe, FFX-2 is the best Final Fantasy game ever. After all, Gameplay is all it has. And is quite possibly the best gameplay in the entire series.

There is no argument. Gameplay>Graphics.

I can't even give away Nintendo Land to retailers for free. Of course this is because of the SKU though. Overall (Despite my previous rant in this thread) I do enjoy playing the Wii U games I do own. Wario & Game looked promising but I don't know if the humour from previous Wario mini-games has carried over. That was its biggest asset IMO.

Pikmin 3 should be fun. Ive played enough of it to realize the graphics are good & the story is intriguing. Duck Tales comes out soon & of all the current consoles that are out now, I feel the Wii U is the best fit. Even if the price is a bit more steep than PS3 & Xbox 360.

The statement is meaningless.

For Gameplay to be greater than Graphics, they have to be competing with each other.

They do not compete with each other.

This statement came up when people started using Nostalgia to explain why games today suck. Which is absurd because Graphics have always been important. Excitebike had good graphics in the NES days. So did Super Mario Brothers.

Games are built on a bunch of facets, and ANY of the facets can make a game suck. Story. Gameplay. Graphics and Sound. Control structure. Concept.

Take your favorite game, and drop the FPS to 5, slap in massive texture pop-in, and add bad screen tearing. The gameplay didn't change, but the game will suck.
