Back on topic; I've owned the dvd release of "HHoH" tv series for some time and quite enjoy it. Curious if those who have actually bought both find the PQ/AQ quality increase significant enough to re-purchase?
With films it's usually an easy call but with tv, well....

I echo oddbox83 - it's a fantastic bump up in quality. Go for it!

I have the German release on order too but I don't see how it can be released on Nov 13th when 3 of the films it contains have been delayed until Jan in the UK. Maybe it's just a weird release strategy but it could also mean that either the date's wrong or some of the extras will be missing, as I think finalising those were cited as reason for the UK delay.

Perhaps it was only delayed after UK consumers on here –and no doubt other similar fansites too– noticed it...
... So is this a follow up strategy? To disadvantage the German consumer as well, with fewer extras for them?

Scars of Dracula (UK release) DOES NOT have the Marcus Hearn, Christopher Lee and Roy Ward Baker commentary. Just as well I retained the DVD from the Hammer box set.

Bear in mind the German set was also pushed back. It's possible that SC decided that if they couldn't release all eight at the same time to leave a bigger gap between them, especially since they'd miss the Halloween date.

That's no surprise: SC has long had a pathological aversion to carrying over extras from their earlier DVD editions to Bluray. They didn't carry over the Harryhausen and Welch interviews from their old DVD release of One Million Years BC either.

Thanks so much for the info!
This film is assuredly a "guilty pleasure " for me. I get upset when I see reviews saying "no where near historically accurate!".
Duh, you no-minds, it's a fantasy adventure tale.
You're welcome. And it is indeed the finest Vikings and an Arab versus horse-riding cannibals in bearskins movie ever made.

Again, thanks, I'll try to track this down...

edit; ooohhh my goodness, $100. sigh.
well, I can hope for an Ebay bargain perhaps, the hunt is on! heh, heh.
I may be wrong, but it might be that the standard French edition has all the extras except for the booklet, stills and slipcase? They're all listed on the Amazon.fr page:

It's especially bizarre since they let Kino use them on their US release!

HMV Birmingham had all four titles but apart from Demons Of The Mind which had two copies left, they all had one, and the slipcases were either badly dinged up or ripped

I asked one of the ladies in there, and she said they are due more in this week and they've been really popular

There was no point getting just one as they are in the offer, and I already had two other titles I was buying in the 2 for £25 deal

It wasn't one they created: it dates back to Anchor Bay's DVD release and they probably would have had to pay again for it to be used on the BD.

Ahh. That was scheduled for release yesterday. I pre-ordered that in August. Thanks. All my many pre-orders are coming home to roost.

It's is unfortunate but production expenses seem to have been rather limited for these releases. 7 of the 8 films coming from Studio Canal had commentaries on DVD...non follow to the BD's.
