So the copy you are watching have a slight magenta push, grain visible from a phone, and none of the edits of the 3D version?

First of all forgive the typo’s lol typing from a phone.

Ever so slight more like it but I do see it - but still slightly warmer! And yes I can say for sure it’s not the old master. I tilted my phone vertically, which lead to a huge letter box viewing of the movie, then zoomed in from there to examine closely and saw no hint of edge enhancements / halo’s. Though Digital Copy, it is already superior than the 2011 version, which I compared with. The deeper blacks are night-and-day noticble as well.

All those other edits like removing the stage light seems to be done in the middle of the 3D conversion so sadly we’re not getting those goof fixes here.

WISH I can take screen grabs but the copy protection won’t let me!!

I said same master. Doesn't mean it'll have the same DNR (it won't). Usually the DNR is applied to 3-D so the grain doesn't "pop" out and become 3-D as well. It doesn't need a new scan.

Which is perfectly fine, because not every "correct" grade is magenta-free. Some people act like anything with a touch of red in it is wrong.

They are not doing separate masters for the itunes. It's the same as the UHD, with HDR. Only the video compression and quality will vary.

It'll likely be the same or use the same base, but it's not 100% certain. Dracula uses a different master on iTunes, Starship Troopers looks completely different and Blade Runner has the old 2007 audio mix for example.

iPhone x and even some previous models actually offer close-to-perfect accuracy when it comes to colour and gamma. I wouldn’t dismiss them so easily (granted, still not perfect but very descent). Even iMac’s straight out of the box offers that same level of calibration. And my PC /Tv monitors are calibrated as well.

That said the definitive way to see all this is obviously from the UHD disc itself which none of us have. We’re simply just making observations based on what we have so far (the updated Digital copy of the film).

It doesn't look ERMAYZING but as long as it doesn't go Full T2 (or Melting Butler) then I can accept that. Grudgingly, but I'll accept it nonetheless.

Assuming it's using the master as a base is fine logic.. but who is to say whether the Itunes version is not post-processing that source with it's delivery chain to produce the encode we see there... We're still in speculation land.
