Agree on Stallone. But with the exception of Brian Dennehy no one is up to his level and a promising opening half hour is squandered (Richard Crenna's terrible performance really kills it for me).

It's starting too look like Amazon isn't going to cave on Part II. When does the BF sale usually end?

I can't find it, but I feel like an earlier post said the included BDs were the same LG discs from '08 or so. Can anyone say for sure? |

Got all 3 at my local BB. I don't even have a 4K tv yet, just got them for the included remastered Blu's.
![]() Might put the remastered Blu of First Blood in my BB steel... ![]() Sexy... I didn't even have 2 and 3, so first Blood was my only double dip. |

Its seriously one of the best bits of acting I have seen - Stallone was underrated. And its true that First Blood is equal parts drama and equal parts action

![]() But I can see why that monologue hits so hard--and why a lot of people find it utterly raw--Everything that transpired from American troops, from the length of the way, to the average age (21, I believe), to being drafted, for basically fighting for no meaningful outcome, as well as a noticeable percentage of American citizens disrespecting them just doing what they had to do... you can tell that was something that resonated with Stallone on a narrative level for these films. I come from a family of military personnel, we're talking generations, so hearing some of the stories from my father, and especially my uncle, really puts a lot of that stuff into a very focused perspective. I also think Stallone is incredibly underrated as an actor. I get that he does his fair share of B-movies, ala Van Damne, Schwarzenegger, Segal, etc, etc. but out of all of those cheesy action stars, I definitely feel Stallone has always had the range to branch outside of his conventional action tropes. |
