To prevent the site from further traffic issues, the “TGIM – Public Beta Access” post is now officially locked. I was thinking the same thing. It shouldn't take all that long, but I guess they have other stuff to do.

I'm waiting for the Japanese beta to finish downloading (thanks to the code from galperi). I figured LBP with a Japanese narrator was better than no LBP at all.

No, I'm in Canada. Didn't see any sort of incentive on Amazon.ca for that. Although the game was only 54.99 when pre-ordered instead of the standard 59.99.

UPDATE: Finally, we're back! Sincere apologies for the downtime this morning, but now we're stable and ready to go. Follow the steps below to enter to win a LittleBigPlanet beta code. But it doesn't end there. Those who are lucky enough to win access to the beta will have chances to win an additional prize, such as a copy of the full LittleBigPlanet game that releases on October 21. Here's how it all works.

Enter the LittleBigPlanet beta giveaway here. Submit your name and email address for your chance to win a beta key. Half of the beta vouchers will be given away today (you must be a registered GamePro.com user to enter).



Step 2. Check

u dont get a gift card immediately with amazon through promotions like these, they can take anywhere from a week to 6 weeks ... keeps peeps from buying , waiting a month, using the giftcard , then returning the product. (if it were still sealed obviously)

But they do come, so thats what matters.

Yeah, I tried several times yesterday to register and it wouldn't let me. Why not simply take the page down?

I believe they took it down to prevent additional denial of service from evenmore people attempting to take part of the contest. Thats just my opinion though, nothing official.

Well I got my code from IGN and was up and running last night.

LBP is pretty coo. It's actually pretty adorable - I have to hide it from the kiddo until I get my playtime in.


I haven't gotten into the level editing yet but I'm going to be working towards that tonight.

So far, I'm happy I got this on pre-order.

good to hear... I think this whole "beta" thing is just to generate hype and boost the preorders because we all know that a game like this needs a good community to be sucessfull long term. I just hope all these sites going down isn't turning some potential fans off. As far as my case it worked on me. I succombed to the hype and placed my preorder last night.

But I don't think it's wasted hype, the game really is a treat to play.

i hope you are right... last game that managed to get a preorder out of me was Half-Life 2 (PC) which was amazing. I'm just wary of the Sony hype machine which has a sketchy hisotory (i'm looking at you PS3 launch and GTA4 perfect reviews)

A coworker of mine got a beta code for LBP and he's not using it so he said when he finds it he'll give it to me. Lucky dude is playing Killzone 2 also.

Silly question, but did any of TPTBs at Blu-ray.com think to ask for beta codes to raffle off here?

Considering it's a casual player game and the number of BD enthusiasts that have a PS3, but probably don't touch games - this would seem like a great cross-sell/exposure opportunity for the PS3.

Was just a thought.....
