Has anyone not had their digital copies upgrade to 4k on the Apple tv 4k? ive had my versions of 1-3 since 2012 in my itunes library and they are marked as HD yet they havent upgraded nor do they indicate they are even available in 4K, like all other 4k titles seem to suggest, regardless of whether you own the 4k version or not. Finding it frustrating that my version hasnt upgraded. My codes came from the trilogy Bluray boxset with the full slip cover. Not understanding why they arent upgrading.
Whats even stranger is that my Jurassic world hasnt even upgraded and that was redeemed in Itunes only last month in HD. What gives? Not had issues with any other titles upgrading. Last edited by hazzad; 04-13-2018 at 09:40 AM. |

Also doesnt explain why i cant see them as being available in 4k, at the very least. Every other 4k film tells me its available in 4k, even if i dont own the rights to play it back. |

The whole iTunes 4K upgrade thing is weird. Maybe it takes time? Here's my situation, when I saw some posts here saying that the movies were now in 4K on iTunes.
Two days ago I saw people posting that iTunes now has 4K...I checked mine and they hadn't been upgraded. Last night I checked again...and Jurassic 1 & 3 had been upgraded to 4K HDR. Even stranger...my codes were originally redeemed in SD, not HD. So technically my digital copies should not have been upgraded. While not JP related...I'm still waiting for my Incredible Hulk to be upgraded. That one was originally redeemed in HD in 2008 but no upgrades for me yet. There seems to be almost no rhyme or reason to this... |

What’s weird is my HD redeemed code when viewed from the TV app shows that my Jurassic Park is still in standard HD. But when viewing it from the iTunes store the 4K and HDR logo is present. Regardless, streaming from the TV app will give you the updated 4K master (albeit in 1080p in the phone).
And when streaming it on my PC via iTunes it streams the outdated 2011 version. It’s kind of weird when you think about it. For those who live by Digital Copies only and who already redeemed the Hd codes long time go, they’re getting a free 4K upgrade. They can otherwise only profit from those who never purchased Digital HD before or those who willing to purchase the 4K UHD disc. |

The 3D master itself has colour timing designed to not look so shit-brown when viewed in 3D, but it does indeed look nasty when the left eye is viewed on its own. A separate 2D grade should not have the same colour. Similar perhaps, but not the same. Same thing applies to the conversion artefacts that are visible in the 3D master, the 2D should bypass those.

Im in the same boat as a few of you, I purchased the 4 movies in HD directly from iTunes. ATM the only movie in 4k here in ireland is Jurassic Park on my apple tv 4k it shows that I only have the movie in HD and its the crappy 2011 master, if I visit the store on my ipad or pc when i go to jp page its listed as 4k but does not show me the play icon only the price to buy it again WTF?

Apple's 4K content can only stream on a new Apple TV 4K from last year (2017) and on iPhone X's. No iPads get it as of yet, and no Macs can play 4K UHD content from the iTunes store yet either. I think the reason is the screen displays/internals on Apple's older hardware isn't able to handle playing 4K stuff.
Hope this helps! |

Anyone Order the Steelbook collection from KimchiDVD? Is this blu-ray only but using the new image from the 4K set?

I really hope they don't reuse the English subtitles on the Blu-rays because, for JP 1 and 2, they were all heavily summarized and reworded subtitles that scarcely matched what was said on screen. They were unusually terrible, where most Universal English subtitles are very good about being verbatim. I can only hope that they do a new English SDH track, but I get the feeling they're gonna reuse the old one... |
