Wonder Woman stole the show in BvS, and this movie looks like it will cement her character as an icon of cinema as she is already an icon of TV, comics, and pop culture. Seriously can't wait for this film. Between this, Suicide Squad, Justice League, and even LEGO Batman, my DC/Warner excitement level has hit critical mass.

I happen to be a right sided Christian male... and while probably not a 'fundamentalist' I find the use of this stereotype offensive. I come here to bluray.com to chat about movies... and I came here to the Wonder Woman thread because I saw the trailer and I wanted to talk about how bad ass it looked. I confess Spectre08's post rubbed me the wrong way as I simply don't want to hear about how Zack Snyder's Christian and political beliefs are the reason why he won't portray a female superhero "proper" which is absolute complete opinionated drivel. I'm sorry I couldn't resist the temptation to respond... but I simply felt I needed to. I don't want to make any more of it... as I'm here for the love of movies and bluray only... but again... I won't have my belief systems side swiped in a stereotypical manner... even subtly so.

Now back to Wonder Woman and how damned awesome it looks!!!

Huh. The majority of posts about Zach Snyder being christian or not have apparently been deleted. So, these probably will too. BUT, I don't think it's a characteristic that's obvious, AT ALL. I forget the term for this, but it's that thing that invalidates anything scientific where you start with a conclusion and try to work backwards making "evidence" to support it. I don't care if he's Christian or not, I just definitely don't get that impression from his work. He's so nihilistic much of the time.

maybe it's unfair to tie his misogyny to christianity. Could be. I've never personally thought that much about it until recently, and I only give the theory half-credence.

I like his movies, those not starring Superman anyways. I try not to dig too much into them, simply because I don't want to turn up unsavory things that will turn me off to them.

It's an informal fallacy known as "begging the question." One uses the conclusion as a premise to prove the conclusion.

So the allusions to the overwhelming Christian subtext in BvS aren't entirely accurate. I'm not saying there isn't Christian symbolism in the film, but it's not there because Snyder's clutching the Bible in his hand as he's directing the film, lol.

I wonder if the backlash for BvS from a mostly liberal press is rooted in an anti-Israel bias?
