I know its nothing great but I found a bootlegged sex and the city dvd boxset for 5.99 at goodwill. It has 32 discs and it is the complete series

Yep. Have only seen decent BDs a few times, but it was generally stuff I already have.

Last trip, picked up a bunch of DVDs for $.75 apiece (including stuff like He-Man Vol. 1, Black Hawk Down 3-disc edition, Addams Family 2-pack w/slip, Adam Sandler 2-pack w/slip, Stephen King 4-film collection, and a bunch of other stuff - lots of which isn't out on BD). They had just unloaded like 3 boxes from the back, the employee told me.

Picked up a steelbook, a BluRay with mint OOP HTF slipcover, and a sealed OOP blu-ray for $10. It was a good pitstop on the way back from work

was in Laredo on friday and pick up Boardwalk Empire the complete series on DVD (mint) for 20.00 and a few other dvd for 1.00 each the best two are oop copies of
Apocalypto & Oh, God! You Devil
and some other old movies like Around the world in 80 days

I almost passed on these, but went back the next day to get them. I need the last one, so I can finally sit down and watch the series.

Most of these were just mediocre deals. But my prize find was:
When a Stranger calls Back DVD - $1 -- been looking for this for a looooong time.
and Wolfman Universal Legacy Series - 1.66 in Near Mint condition. Another long time search ended

I hate finding mediocre deals. Because if I pass, I always seem to regret not spending just a little more to get something I might not find again.It seems I've been spending a bit more per movie than I used to. Good deals, but not worthy of posting here. Goodwills around here charge 2.99 for DVDs, 3.99-4.99 for BDs and 1.99-2.99 per CD. They do tend to get alot of good stuff since I think most Americans think of Goodwill as the go-to donation place. The good news is I tend to get alot of sealed DVD sets for 2.99-4.99 there. I did manage to spend > $50 at pawn and thrift shops this week

I go to thrift shops/pawn shops 2-3 times a week. Every once in a while I make the rounds and hit 5 or 6 in a day while out. Today I picked up Downton Abbey S3 on blu for 2.00. Can't beat that.

It's rare to find a decent dvd or blu around here as well. The shops in this area are mostly under the same ownership and pretty much put every Disney, 3D, or obvious "desirable" title on eBay instead of placing them for sale in the store. Every now and then a gem will slip through, such as an obscure horror title. But those moments are extremely uncommon.

That's not just a lot of stuff for the money, it's a lot of quality stuff for the money.

One of my go-to shops is looking up prices on Amazon at check-out time. I found a near mint copy of Toy Story 2 3D. Of course after checking Amazon, he wanted 20 bucks for it and 10 bucks each for Rescuers and Cars. Did manage to get Ponyo and Emperors New Groove (new) for 5 bucks, but it irritates me to have to wait 10 minutes while he tries to price the BDs --- I wish he'd pre-price them, so I could save the aggravation of being disappointed.
