There really hasn't been that much whining, though. Many like the title and poster. A few don't like one of them but like the other, and they have as much a right to feel that way as we do.

Many posts have been speculation/discussion about the possible meaning of the title, but that has mostly been among those of us who like it and are curious as to its meaning (esteban being the main exception I can see, but even he is being calm and non-aggressive about it, if a little long-winded). Does even good-natured discussion count as drama on this forum now?

The iconic
[Show spoiler]Jurassic Park Ford Explorer 04
was spotted on a skid heading to Hawaii a couple weeks ago for Jurassic World 2.

[Show spoiler]

This leads me to believe that "Fallen Kingdom" is actually Isla Nublar from the first Jurassic Park film.. So we may be heading back there in this one.

May? It's been known we're going back to Nublar for ages, lover boy.

At the same time we're also supposed to be going bigger in scope and moving away from "dinosaurs chasing people on islands" according to Trevorrow, so I'm curious to see how they balance that.

The amount of animatronics in this film makes me happy. I don't like JW at all really, but I'm still interested to see where they go with this one.

I don't think there has ever been, or will ever be a moment for me more incredible than this. This was 1993 and it still looks amazing. Jurassic Park was my Star Wars. The literal definition of movie magic. I cant wait to see where this new movie takes us.

Nice.

[Show spoiler]Explorer 04 is the one that ends up in the tree inside the T-Rex paddock in the original movie, but here it is in pristine condition which could mean there is a flashback scene.

The truck it is sitting on kind of looks like a film prop too, maybe the scene is shows the construction of the original park. CGI John Hammond confirmed!

Yes. The kids found their way to the ruins of the old park escaping the Indominus Rex.

Good thinking, I could see them do that. These films always begin with some sort of prologue, so maybe that's where we'd see such a flashback?

That would be early, but it's happened before so not impossible. I wonder if it'd be like the teasers for the first three films where they didn't really show anything of significance, it's mostly just a "it's coming" to get people hyped.

Yeah it probably will be very brief like a roar, and an egg hatching.

I don't think there will be flashbacks involving the Ford Explorer. That's too much of a stretch. The only flashbacks that may happen would logically involve Benjamin Lockwood and John Hammond. I just see a stand-in for Hammond, with his back to the camera. I hope they don't go the Leia and Tarkin route on this one.

The "04" car is the one dropped inside the moat by Rexy in JP. The fact that this replica or prop does not have a raised roof and a plexiglass tells me they will overturn it and add some damage to it - weathering, denting etc and keep it under the tree from which it fell down in 1993; inside the T-Rex Paddock.

I think one possible scenario would involve Owen, Claire and the others just stumbling upon the ruins of the Explorer, lying there, mud-stained, with raptor eggs nesting in the wheel pockets, like the teaser poster for JW by Mark Englert.

jurassic-world-comic-con.jpg

Maybe the raptor will be Blue, hmm? It's possible, since Owen is supposed to rescue Blue as well as other dinosaurs from an erupting volcano.

Also, did it ever occur to anyone here that the Raptor pose and the car's position in the painting are exactly the same as their positions at different points in the film?

JP_Raptors on table_1993 promo.jpg

JP_Fallen Explorer.jpg

I'd actually say, the artist didn't even paint the Raptor or the car, he just copied and pasted these shots, then added paint filters to make them look like art and not film footage. The pose, the angle, the positions are all same. Just the shadows are adjusted for dramatic effect.

He did a very clever job by just painting the environment around the rotoscoped cutouts that he imported to Adobe Photoshop or something. Most of the work on the poster is basically lifted directly from frames of the movie, not even re-drawn. He thought nobody would notice that.

I always loved the original raptors. Never liked the feathered updates even if they were more realistic.
