Will you be selling the "Walking The Edge" novelization through your site or VinegarSyndrome.com?

Has Fun City ever considered releasing the fun pinball hustling Brooke Shields flick "Tilt"? Seems like a good fit for the label, but perhaps there's rights issues or other complications since it never came out on dvd. Would be nice to retire my pre-cert VHS.

I'd love that! From what I understand, the rights lie directly with director/producer Rudy Durand so maybe a deal can be made if FCE is interested.

Written by the great Donald Cammell, whose Wild Side still needs a Blu-Ray with its original cut and the re-edit that approximates what he wanted before it was taken out of his control |

And, please clarify whether all of the films in this set were actually filmed with an OAR of 1.33:1 and were therefore only "TV-safe" or whether their 1.33:1 presentations when shown on TV were merely "open-matte" presentations of films which could be cropped without "losing" anything.... In other words, do threatrical versions look better composed, with less head-room and deadspace above and below? Thank you... |

Yes, our cut of DEATH RIDE is the only version that was available to us: the harsher, "international" version with nudity, etc. I don't know how long the tv version (GIRLS OF THE WHITE ORCHID) was. It played in 3-hour time slots, as I recall, but I haven't seen a newspaper listing that gives its exact running time.
As to the aspect ratios, from what we understand, the films were partially financed by theatrical pre-sales to foreign territories, meaning that they were both shot for U.S. television (1.33) and possible foreign theatrical (1.85). We give the Blu-ray customer the choice to view the films in whichever aspect ratio they choose. You can A/B them yourself and see what looks better to you. However, we don't know that any of these films ever actually did play a foreign theatrical market, so for historical purposes, the 1.33 version is probably most accurate. Unsurprisingly, they currently air on digital streaming services, via the licensor (Multicom), in widescreen. Quote:
