Strictly speaking you are right, this is the wrong thread to have a lengthy discussion about 3D display equipment so let's all get back to discussing Turbine.

“Unless you have a laser projector, VR is the best way to experience 3D”. That was the statement I was challenging, as it simply isn’t true. Far from it.

But let’s leave it there, as it seems challenging falsehoods is an issue these days.

USA
Single 3D title to US: €21.00; Bundle of three: €56.07
Now with USA, shipping is more complicated, as the price of shipping depends on the weight.
With 3D titles, the shipping costs the following (subject to change):
  • 1x-6x BluRay: €12.95
  • 7x-8x BluRay: €18.95
  • 9x+ BluRay: €39.95
In my attempts to assemble an order, it looks like the shipping rates to North America have become more coarse:
  • 1x-6x/7x Blu-Rays: €12.95
  • 7x+/8x+ Blu-Rays: €39.95
The Turbine Shipping and Payment Terms page lists their postage rates, yet the online store no longer appears to offer that €18.95 postage tier.

That's a weird given that it's now more economical to ship up to 3x6 Blu-Rays separately instead of 7+ in a single shipment.

German Post had some changes in their rates in July. Might be the result of that.

You know what I would like to see? Star Trek Into Darkness except getting the IMAX version that has the shifting aspect ratios. I know that the movie itself has been out for a while now in 3D, but having seen the 2D IMAX version, which is included in the Compendium edition, I think it would be really great if Turbine could get the IMAX 3D version and slap an Atmos mix on it. Could be a fun upgrade for existing owners of the original disc.

This and Transformers: Dark of the Moon with fixed brightness would be cool to see get reissued from Paramount through Turbine

There's nothing wrong with Dark of the Moon's brightness. The movie was made that way due to action. Transformers and Revenge of the Fallen have it too.

What display are you using? TV? Projector? Vr? It's pretty noticeable the white level dips substantially from the first 40 mins to the back half of the film, start chapter 1 then go to chapter 16/17 and you'll see it

Michael Bay putted black shades on top and bellow of the the picture to narrow the visuals. Maybe without them there could be artifacts showing or something. Forget about it. The movie was screened that way. Actually... all the three movies were screened that way and are burned on discs that way too.

I can't say those things get me excited and would cast my vote against it buy not upgrading my copies.

Surely, there must be enough unreleased stuff available to them that they can focus on that over very small "fixes" or changes to previous releases. Maybe if they could full on fix borked releases of yesteryear that were practically unwatchable, but not the small stuff. The IMAX suggestion I can understand more, but still, would much rather get fresh releases, personally speaking.

I rather they focus on 3D movies that's never been released on 3D Blu-ray as well. Once that's complete, then we can request changes to fix the current releases. I doubt we will ever get there though. With that said, I would love a copy of Infinity War and End Game in IMAX 3D format with Dolby Atmos but that's wishful thinking.

Its all up in the air now, i responded someone on the thunderbolts thread about this. Proper coding and documentation will be very important here to get the correct tariffs applied unfortunately its still not a guarantee we will be paying for the correct fee, this will remain to be seen. looking for alternatives if Turbine has a lot of business from US customers they may want to start looking at what RSM did towards the end of their business run, have a store front on amazon US then send their blurays in bulk and use amazon warehouse to fulfill the orders, this way turbine will have the initial burden on the tariffs then repass it to customers on a much smaller scale (broken down by units) added to the final per item price. Of course the blurays will end up costing a little more this way to pay for this but its a way to make sure both ends are satisfied with this situation. The last thing we need is people canceling their orders or scared of buying future releases because of the possibility of being nailed a flat fee of $80USD then our chances of getting future unreleased 3D movies goes down the drain due to lower sales numbers.

If a friend buys it for you and sends it to you as a gift, is it still tariffed?

Not for me they don't. Perhaps take it to a more appropriate thread, like this one for example:

You might be able to afford the Tariff increase but, others can't. Tariffs will definitely have a big impact on future Turbine releases.
