Did they completely disregard his freezing breath power in this film? I was thinking it could have counteracted
[Show spoiler]Zod's heat vision in the end instead of snapping his neck.
I don't recall him using this power even once in this movie.

The theme of this film is fantastic. For kids who didn't grow up with John Williams' score for Superman, this might become their Superman theme.

Completely logical.

I played both themes together, back to back, and both give me goosebumps. Someone's doing right.

He'll probably discover his abilities as the series unfolds.

Just wondering if anyone else caught this, I have a very keen eye and I'm pretty sure I saw what I saw and if I did, it was a truly bittersweet and lovely thing that was put in. This is what I saw at the finale of the film...
[Show spoiler]right before Clark summons everything he can muster to shoot up to the core of the ship at the end and disable it, he has that teeth bearing painful look, and in the close up, I SWEAR that in this lingering shot they morphed a bit of Christopher Reeve's face upon Henry's!!!! IT was sooo subtle and just magical when I saw it. Physically, Henry does share more feature wise with Chris's upper face so it was nicely integrated. The eyes especially, Henry has those warm, bright blue eyes and softening brow. I got a chill when I saw it...if there ever was a "Superman" Christopher was indeed him (in every way) and to put his spirit in at that moment was symbolic and beautiful!
Now, if anyone else thinks I'm crazy or delusional that's ok...but if anyone else saw this please let me know cuz I'd love to know that others saw this bit of magic as well!!!

Oh, and I liked the little touch of the finale taking part a bit on

Iron Man 3 had Robert Downey Jr whose charisma more than makes up for some of the films shortcoming. Man of Steel sadly had nothing like that to fall back on.

Zimmer is the best in the business. you're out of your mind to say most of his scores are junk.. Man of Steel, Nolans Batmans, Inception. The Last Samurai, The Rock, Black Hawk Down, The Ring, Pearl Harbor, Gladiator, The Fan, Drop Zone, Crimson Tide, True Romance, A League of Their Own, BackDraft, all were fantastic

Yeah I'm not sure what that guy is talking about Zimmer's scores are amazing and very memorable IMO. That Arcade song off of the Mos soundtrack alone is still stuck in my head. Everytime I listen to to it I think Zod and Faora are right around the corner.

Nice haul, I went on Monday @ 1 PM. 75% full and it got an ovation at the end. My Wal-Mart screening got an ovation too, but I wrote that off because you know the only folks there were loyal fans, but a Monday afternoon? The ages in the audience were all over the place too, from seniors with their wives to kids out of school and dressed up. Lots of folks thoughout both showings seemed really engaded. I have one more viewing planned with my wife, but my wallet may not be able to take it with Monsters U coming out.

I give a 2/5...the actions scenes were blurry messes and there was some pretty bad acting (Diane Lane was dreadful and totally took me out of the scenes with Clark). I also thought it was poorly edited. It bounced around way too much. The story lacked substance as well.

Overall I thought it was just a generic film. It just felt empty. I do think Cavill will grow into the role with future films. I loved the new suit. I doubt I'll ever have the urge to watch it again or own it.

Yup, I saw it too. Would be great to get an official statement on it to solidify what we are thinking.

Nice Monday for Steel. I think more kids are out of school, so it probably helped it.

I think it's all those people who didn't like the film, and still went more than once! I think someone here gave it 2 stars, and went 4x!

I plan on taking a 2nd trip this week or next weekend... loved this movie!

It isn't if we all saw it. One or two people maybe crazy, but there's too many of us who saw it.

Cool, guys! Knew I wasn't a crazy girl!!

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Chris Reeve (he was the first Superman I saw and that film still carries a charm etc that movies of today just don't have anymore), and I feel, given some more dialogue to play with in a sequel (I feel the script was lacking in that department), that Henry Cavill will fit into the boots quite nicely. He carries the same sweet vulnerability.

Dislike his newest work. But I adore his soundtracks for True Romance and Tgin Red Line.

That's not the review I would have expected from someone that voted 4/5 in the poll.

I legitimately think that one of the biggest reasons this movie has been met with such lackluster critical response is because the superhero movie bubble is getting ready to pop.

I saw it last night and absolutely loved it. I think it was the best superhero movie since The Dark Knight. Great performances, unbelievably good special effects, awesome action choreography, gorgeous cinematography... Lol, obviously, I really loved the movie.

This is the first superhero flick where the fight scenes actually felt like something more than a glorified fist fight. It really seemed like superhumans fighting.
