From what I've gathered it would fall into the Softcore category but may walk that line fairly close at times. It's rated R on IMDB for what it's worth and from what I saw doesn't appear to have any of the usual insertion closeups or piston action one would expect from a Hardcore film.

Also, if you ever have space on a disc to spare, you should throw in some old public domain cartoons too. Drive In Theaters around here always ran those too in between movies. Like an old Fleischer Popeye cartoon - I think those are all Public Domain, and would be kind of cool.
Yes to all of the above. I like the Drive-In double features. They are certainly ripe for expansion in the intermission department. Public domain cartoons along with trailers and snack bar commercials would add to the experience.

Agreed. Without the Drive-In double feature mode I never would have watched Wacky Taxi.

Hahahahaha!

You know, Wacky Taxi wasn't all that bad..I kinda liked it.
Definitely one of those that's almost bad enough to be good, but only because it stars someone 'famous', i.e. John Astin.

I posted my thoughts on the night I watched it and generally agree with you that it wasn't a terrible movie by any means, but it was most certainly not the kind of film I expected on a Darkforce Drive in Double feature, nor was it a film I would have watched had it not been a part of the Drive-in double feature mode simply because it was so far outside of my usual wheelhouse.

Agreed, it does seem out of place paired with Secrets of Sweet Sixteen. Typically those drive-in sexploitation films are paired together..

Plus it keeps my lazy, high as f*** ass from having to find the remote, get up and swap discs. One push of the button and there's a night's entertainment.

It might get a last minute addition, isn’t that what happened with Terri’s Revenge?

I have Wacky Taxi on a double feature with SuperArgo (DVD). I don't remember if I ever watched it. But I loved those DVDs they pumped out right after Tarantino/Rodriguez released Grindhouse. They had movies like Coach, The Beach Girls, Malibu High, Sonny Chiba's The Bodyguard, etc. I should dig up the Wacky Taxi one and give it (another) try.

Drive-in double features are my favorite. I believe .most of the Dark Force releases that dont have special features would be best as double features. Stuff like Magdalena, Teenage Hitchhikers and other would be perfectly suited for the line with the damaged prints and content. I personally only collect the drive-in double features from Dark Force and have very few stand alone releases. I am just happy that there is a company still catering to fans of grindhouse style double features. I was extremely happy when BCI did their Welcome To The Grindhouse series

Yeah, I loved BCI's grindhouse discs (and the line that proceeded it, the Starlite Drive-in discs)! They all still grace my shelves.

If you're looking for something a little less work, Something Weird Video has 6 volumes of drive in movie ads - 10 bucks for the disc, 6 bucks to get the download copy. Pretty good quality too, even if there is a little redundancy in places between the volumes.

Ya I have some of them. I wanna complete the series eventually but there are always new blu-ray and 4ks coming out that I buy instead. I never find any of those BCI discs at oawn shops or anything either which is a bummer. There was another company that released some drive-in double features and even Legenda Films released 2 DVDs

This isn't the greatest looking example (it's a scan of 30+ year old VHS cover), but AIR Video's box art from 1987 is pretty good.

This artwork was also used for The Alien Dead by Retromedia. Was this originally a Bog or an Alien Dead artwork?

TEENAGE HITCHHIKERS was from the 35mm negatives. TEENAGE TRAMP was a 35mm print. Owners only had two 35mm prints.

Watched my Sharon/Terri's Revenge double feature today. Lots of twisted, sordid fun! The picture on Sharon was quite good. Terri's Revenge was really messed up, and the worn print just added to the ambience. Recommended for the not-easily-offended!

The original Bog VHS release from the early 80s used the fisheye lens theatrical poster. Regarding the yellow art used on the AIR release and the Alien Dead release, I have no idea if one used it before the other. Some AIR releases had art that had never been used previously for the titles they released.

Looking on imdb, the yellow cover appears on the bluray release. It could be that the art was made without a specific film in mind and was available to license. The Alien Dead has a number of different VHS covers. Did the film have a theatrical poster?
