I did a quick audessey tweak of my speakers. I hadn't done that in a while and since all of the subwoofer eq, foam and mucking about i really think it needed that.

Still missing the correct mono adapters for the new sub equalizer so the levels were totally out of wack before the audessey runs. Tomorrow i'll order the right adapters. Nowhere in town do they have the right ones and very few places online. Most online dealers only have maybe one of the two rca->jack and 2x rca->jack adapters if lucky but did manage too find one place that do stock both types.

I just got done watching "The Neverending Story". A cute story but nothing really hair raising hehe.

Actually, I just went to bed very early last night, and didn't do anything. I am now hoping to do a little celebrating tonight. I was talking to Al over in his thread about my situation, but I'll go ahead and post it in here.

There is nothing on my record other than maybe a couple of speeding tickets from a decade ago or more, and I told them that. They said that all they receive is a yes or no answer, no details, but that I should eventually receive something in the mail explaining what it was. They also said that since I have a fairly common name, that it could be the wrong background check, and if so, they could rerun it after I received the explanation, which could be several weeks.

I sat in my car, totally crushed for about 10 minutes before I decided to see if one of the other job offers that I received(and turned down for this one) was still available. Luckily, a sandwich shop that is only 2 miles from my house said yes, and I'm supposed to be interviewed by the regional manager there in about an hour.

I've never in my life had this much trouble getting a job, and don't know if it really is this "bad economy" or just my bad luck, but hopefully I will get some good news today.

The fact that I was turned down for the job on my birthday, when it was already a done deal, except for the background check, only helped to exacerbate my shitty situation.

Luckily, I got the job I went in for today.

The other place I went to has some outside company do their background checks, and it takes several days for them to get the info, and then all they receive is a "yes" or "no". The place I went to today does their own background checks in about two minutes, while you wait.

When I was waiting, the lady who was running it asked me if I've ever lived in Wiscosin. I said no, and told her about the situation at the other job. She said that this guy has the exact same first, middle, and last name as me, and used to live here in Knoxville Tennessee, but has since moved to Wisconsin, and has some "very, very bad things on his record". Her eyes got real big when she said that, and she kind of laughed nervously, but she said there was a picture, and that he looks nothing like me, so I'm good to go. I'm sure that's what happened with the other place too.

Unfortunately, I won't start until next Monday, but I definitely, 100% have the job.
