On the other hand, you had Palpatine go right through a guy who made no effort to move at all.

Imposter! While Stephen Colbert would be aware of all potential flaws in this trailer, he would find the hidden truth and report his amazing defense for our entertainment. [emoji14]

This is the first time I have given someone the Godzilla facepalm on here.

You have earned it so much.

Well done, sir.

it's true though. the light saber battles in the PT were nothing but baton twirling. I laughed about it when I was 20 and the PM first came out. and HOWLED about it in Episode 3 theatrically. I've been doing blade fighting for almost 20 years and it stood out like a sore thumb

I'm well aware that the UOT had some pedestrian choreography (some of it had to do with Vader's suit being so bulky that the guy didn't have a lot of mobility and it had to be centered around making it look even for both people), but they went so the OPPOSITE way with the PT fights that it didn't even look REMOTELY accurate

If they are using the main Star Wars theme song in these movies, how come they dont re-use other songs? I would love to hear Duel of the Fates again in a good film. Would they feel cheap or unoriginal if they used that song again?

The (Totally) Phantom Menace - YouTube
It's called "flynning" or "stage fighting", unless you want to use stunt doubles and CGI for everything or want to get the actors to risk hurting each other there are no alternatives.

It's the same in the old trilogy if you really look at what they are aiming when twirling their swords.

My point was the fights will be better.
The raid guys will make sure of that.

Complaining about choreographed fight scenes in movies? Christ on a bike there are some sad, pathetic individuals out there that desperately need to grow up or get some perspective.

Can't you just go and whine and cry where someone gives a damn? No one here does.

All fights in the movies are choreographed......
It's the level of the choreography that makes the difference.

Default Record Breaking Debut!!

According to the official Star Wars Facebook page, the trailer was viewed 88 million times in its first day, wrecking the 62 million record previously held by Furious 7.

If you want another comparison, the first trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015’s other massive movie) was viewed 34 million times in 24 hours. That movie is expected to be the Biggest Thing Ever, which only means that The Force Awakens will be the, uh, Biggestest Thing Ever?

In all seriousness, these numbers showcase an army of fans, both casual and devoted, who want to return to this world and are ready to wash the taste of the prequels out of their mouths. Nearly four decades after the first film opened in theaters, the Star Wars saga is still showing everyone else how it’s done.

Why is that?

They aren't jet fighters. They can simply stop and hover if need be and go back the way they came in.

Default The Star Wars Trailer Is Out, And This Catholic Priest Can't Handle It!

The Force is strong with this one.

A Dutch Catholic priest filmed himself watching the second trailer for the upcoming addition to the Star Wars saga for the first time -- and it soon became clear he’s a big fan.

Father Roderick Vonhögen’s eyes lit up with joy as soon as he pressed play on director J.J. Abrams’ teaser for "Star Wars: Episode VII -- The Force Awakens."

“Oooh,” the priest gleefully exclaimed as he basked in the glow of his computer screen. “New music!”

The reference for any lightsaber fight should be Luke vs. Vader in Bespin.

Looks like digital video capture from a webcam, not film

The lightsaber fights are literally the last thing about the prequels I would complain about.
