Vinegar Syndrome somehow got HORROR HIGH and STANLEY from the Crown library for their recent two-fer.

From Crown, I'd like Blu-rays of:

THE BABYSITTER (1969)
THE YOUNG GRADUATES
CINDY AND DONNA
THE SIDEHACKERS
SHOCK HILL (aka ANGELS FLIGHT)--probably no longer in their library
and a few others

Dave announced Crown’s Cave Girl back in February on Facebook. There was some discussion as to whether this was newly licensed or just using Bananaman’s license for the movie which might not have expired yet. The movie was previously a DVD only Code Red release.

Dark Force would be a great home. There does seem to be some speculation about the rights as Lionsgate shows up attached to the Crown titles, at least when it comes to streaming rights. Could be only streaming, but it would be great to get some info on it for sure.

Oh wow, definitely the Babysitter! And I can't believe I forgot Cindy and Donna.

I'm not sure, but I thought I heard Vinegar Syndrome isn't interested in making another deal for more titles. They talked about Horror High several years back so I'm thinking it was in that package they made a deal for way back then.

Van Nuys Blvd is probably THE most fun drive-in movie ever made. You get van racing, car smashing, and Cynthia Wood at her absolute hottest. What's not to love? I can't believe there still isn't a blu ray for this cult classic. Could Demon Dave really make it happen? I don't know, but that would be incredible.

The new release of HORROR HIGH contains some gore shots that haven't previously appeared on home video, so that would seem to rule out that this transfer was done "way back then."

Could VS have acquired an uncut print from a source other than Crown International?


Now, to get back on topic, perhaps we should stage a Kickstarter Campaign for Dark Force to acquire the Crown library?

Just to clear it up, I don't think the transfer was done a few years ago, but that Vinegar Syndrome acquired the rights for it around the same time they picked up other Crown titles. There's a reason (probably the extra footage) it kept getting pushed back.

I seem to recall Bill having troubles with Pat Cardi and the director, Larry Stouffer, when Code Red released it on DVD. Something about Stouffer and / or Cardi not being thrilled about it, calling it unofficial or whatever. Word was that Stouffer had material that Crown took out which never made it to Bill's DVD release. I didn't find the posts I read about years ago (probably was on AVManaics), but did find similar talk at Latarnia.

I'm guessing the material on the Vinegar Syndrome release may have come from Stouffer. The Vinegar Syndrome release does mention the transfer comes from a lab print which is what was thought to be in Stouffer's possession.

Now, to get back on topic, perhaps we should stage a Kickstarter Campaign for Dark Force to acquire the Crown library?

Whatever takes to get the ball rolling if it's at all possible. I'm in!

Yeah, as others have stated, VinSyn's releases of Stanley and Horror High and the Dark Force announcement on Cavegirl all appear to be from preexisting deals, not new ones.

That's a pretty great price on Kill or be Killed! If any one is on the fence or hasn't
heard of it, it's an apartheid era South African movie. Loads of fun and batshit crazy. A nazi war criminal, a Japenese diamond fiend, a midget, all centered around a karate tournament. Has to be seen to be believed.
