Definitely loving the look and style they're going for based on these photos. Getting truly pumped for this film.

The next generation of Star Wars toys, collectibles, books, and apparel is in range.

StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that Star Wars: The Force Awakens products will land in our galaxy on September 4, 2015, at 12:01 a.m. — “Force Friday” — with stores around the world opening their doors at midnight for a special celebration of all things Star Wars. It will be a day long remembered.

“Every lightsaber, every action figure, every LEGO set tells a story for generations of Star Wars fans, and this global event is a celebration of those stories. We’re excited to be part of the countdown to this enormous movie moment,” said Josh Silverman, executive vice president, global licensing, Disney Consumer Products.

Fans wanting to be the first to get their hands on Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise can set their hyperspace and social media coordinates now: They will be able to visit their local retailer starting at midnight on September 4, and are encouraged to document their experience using the hashtags #ForceFriday and #MidnightMadness. A wide-range of products — from toys and collectibles, to books and comics, ebooks and apps, to apparel and lifestyle accessories — will be available at mass retailers and Disney Store locations worldwide, as well as on DisneyStore.com.

Also revealed here for the first time is the packaging for Star Wars: The Force Awakens products, featuring the shadowy new villain, Kylo Ren. The ominous shadowy figure and the red lightsaber he wields will be featured on Star Wars product packaging beginning September 4, 2015. Let the countdown begin.

I'm worried JJ Abrams trying to play safe, I hope it won't be 2 hours of fan service. I'm sure we'll get good script, directing and acting, but I'm also still trying to be positive that we'll get balanced presentation of old and new, that they'll be bold and take risk.
Well, how different can two desert planets (for example) look? Lucas also introduced a second desert planet in the PT, Geonosis, and it didn't look extremely different from Tatooine, Geonosians themselves and their structures aside.

So where is Dameron's black x-wing? Clearly he doesn't start with it, must be a stealth fighter?

Loving the British street lights on the First Order snow base pictures (to the right of drivers head), must have raided earth at some point and just found the yellow glow to be irresistible.

Also, this is a composite picture, the snow troopers are in the video without driver in exactly the same pose. If they took the effort to photoshop driver in, why not remove the street lamps lol

Vanity Fair photoshoots don't accurately depict what's in the actual film.

Why are you guys spoiler tagging Adam Driver playing Kylo Ren? That's been known for months, and even if it wasn't, you posting the picture in literally the same post makes the tags pointless.

Same with Lupita being CGI. We've known that almost a year. How is that even a spoiler in the first place?

The guy in the black armor trying to hide? Or Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games standing just to his left?

I like her a lot as Brienne in Game of Thrones as well, but here she's wearing chrome Stormtrooper armor, and a cape! That would make anyone look cooler.

I'm kind of disappointed that she's going to be a CGI, I know the Star Trek movies are different, but I found the CGI augmented faces in that, off-putting. Make-up and prosthetic's are so good these days, I can't imagine why they'd need CGI.
